Peralatan kompresor di area common sangat penting untuk menyuplai udara instrumen ke peralatan control valve. Pada saat ini pola operasi dua kompresor di PLTGU Grati secara normal dioperasikan kedua-duanya, untuk mengantisipasi ketika terdapat kompresor yang abnormal. Namun perlakuan seperti itu dapat mengakibatkan kebutuhan daya listrik yang besar dan waktu perawatan yang bersamaan karena selalu digunakan bersamaan. Dengan inovasi berupa pengubahan pola operasi menjadi 1 kompresor operasi ketika normal dan penambahan sistem proteksi kompresor dapat mengurangi kebutuhan daya listrik yang digunakan untuk mengoperasikan dan mengantisipasi risiko � risiko yang akan terjadi seperti kompresor utama abnormal. Saat dua kompresor digunakan secara bersamaan daya listrik yang diperlukan sebesar 36,67 kW/jam, sedangkan ketika satu kompresor saja yang digunakan daya listrik yang diperlukan sebesar 21,08 kW/jam. Dari data tersebut dapat diketahui penghematan daya listrik sebesar 15,59 kW/jam atau 11.224,8 kW per bulan. Jika dikalkulasikan penghematan biaya listrik sebesar Rp 10.102.320,00.
