However, it can be found also in practice, that there are many rivers which do not follow the general rivers as explained above. The such “special†rivers, geo morphologically are found in mountain region, thus have steep slopes, however, due to their material compositions, they have small size of bed materials. Due to this factl the research was conducted in order to know whether the known formula of sediment transport, available in literature, are still remain valid or not to predict the sediment transport in “special†rivers. The research was also intended to find a good correlation between sediment and flow parameters for the present data obtained in this study The research was conducted at the Hydraulic and Hydrology Laboratory, IUC, Gajah Ma& University, by using the available sedimentrecirculatingflume. Two kinds of bed materials were used in this study, i-e., the bed material I with d50 = 0.421 mm and the non -unformity parameter, cr = log (dddjso) = 0.52, and the bed material II with d50 = 1.229 mm and o = 0.24. The bed slopes were varied between I % to 2%, while the flow discharges varied fiom 0.009 to 0.049 m3/dt From the investigation of the present &a obtainedfiom this study as well as the data collectedfiom literature, the following conclusions might be drawn: 1) almost the most available formula found in the literature could not be used to predict the present “special†data, among the formula used in this study, the one proposed by Meyer-Peter and Muller, seem to give a better prediction compare with the others formula used in the study; 2). Plot of the present data fall below Jhe equation proposed by Suszka (1987) and behind lep the equation proposed by Graf and Acaroglu (1968). This mean that the sediment transport characteristics studied in this study are dflerent with the ones generally studied in literature.
Rumwrumus angkutan sedimen yang dapat ditemukan di literatur selama ini dikembangkan berdasarh karakteristik mum dalam dua kondisi yaitu : 1). sungai landai dengan komposisi material dasar kecilhalus, dan 2). sungai dengan kemiringan dasar curam (sungai-sungai di daerah pegunungan). mempunyai karakteristik komposisi material dasarnya besarkasar). Dalam prakteknya ditemukan kondisi sungai yang mempunyai karakteristik agak “menyimpang†dalam arti secara geomorphologis termasuk dalam kategori sungai curam, tetapi komposisi material dasarnya relatif halus. Dari kenyataan seperti ini dilakukan penelitian apakah rumus-rumus yang ada dilitemtur dapat diterapkan untuk memprediksi angkutan sedimen dengan baik. Penelitian ini juga dilakukan untuk mengetahui korelasi parameter angkutan sedimen dan parameter aliran. Penelitian dibkukan dengan berdasarkan percobaan eksprimental di laboratorium Hidraulik dan Hidrologi .PAU.Ilmu Teknik.Universitas Gajah Mada, dengan menggunalcan sediment recirculating j7ume. Dua macam material dasar yang digunakan yaitu, material dasar I dengan d50 = 0.421 mm, standar deviasi nya CT = log (Wd50) = 0.52, dan material dasar II dengan dso = 1.229 mm dan a = 0.24. Kemiringan dasar saluran antara 1% sampai 2%, debit aliran antara 0.009 sampai 0.049 m3/dt. Hasil yang diperoleh dari =penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persamaan yang dikernukakan MPM cukup baik untuk memprediksi angkutan sedimen dengan butiran halus.(hasil eksperimental) khususnya untuk sedimen dengan ,$&meter d5o = 1.229 mm. Plot data 4 vs dari data yang diperoleh dillah ‘pm&t.~an ini berada di bawah kurva yang di peroleh oleh Suszka (1987) dan dismping kiri Graf & Acaroglu (1%8). h i menunjukkan bahwa secara umum karabxistik angkutan sedimen &lam penelitian ini, berbeda satu sama lain dengan stu&kerdahulu
