Perawatan maloklusi kelas II skeletal dengan teknik Begg dapat mempengaruhi titik A dan titik B. Perubahan titik A dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan elastik intermaksilar kelas II dan palatal root torque, sedangkan perubahan titik B dipengaruhi oleh rotasi mandibula karena pemakaian elastik intermaksilar kelas II. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan titik A dan titik B pada maloklusi kelas II skeletal setelah dilakukan perawatan dengan teknik Begg. Pengukuran titik App-Bpp dilakukan pada sefalogram lateral dari 30 subjek penelitian dengan kriteria: belum pernah mendapatkan perawatan ortodontik, maloklusi kelas II skeletal, berumur 18-30 tahun, dirawat ortodontik cekat teknik Begg dengan pencabutan 4 gigi premolar pertama. Pengukuran sefalogram meliputi: pengukuran jarak titik App-Bpp dan App’-Bpp’ serta perubahan posisi titik App dan Bpp setelah perawatan. Jarak titik App-Bpp dan titik App’-Bpp’ dianalisis dengan paired t-test, sedangkan perubahan posisi titik App dan Bpp setelah perawatan dianalisis dengan one sample t-test. Arah pergerakan titik App dan Bpp dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif dan chi square. Hasil penelitian didapatkan jarak titik App-Bpp dan titik App’-Bpp’ tidak mengalami perubahan yang bermakna (p>0,05) sedangkan posisi titik App dan Bpp mengalami perubahan yang bermakna (p<0,05). Kesimpulan: tidak terjadi pengurangan jarak App-Bpp, sedangkan titik App dan Bpp terjadi perubahan posisi ke arah anterior setelah perawatan ortodontik dengan teknik Begg.

Malocclusion class II skeletal treatment with Begg technique could influences point A and point B. Changes in point A were influenced by elastic intermaxillary class II and palatal root torque usage, meanwhile changes in point B were influences by mandibular rotation because of elastic intermaxillary class II usage. The purpose of this study is to understand the changes in point A and B at class II malocclusion skeletal after orthodontic treatment using Begg technique. Point App-Bpp measurement was done at cephalogram lateral with 30 patients. The criterias: the patient has never got orthodontic treatment, malocclusion class II skeletal, aged 18-30 years old and were treated using Begg technique fixed appliance with extraction of four first premolar. Cephalogram measurement consists of point App-Bpp and App’-Bpp’ distance measurement and the changes in point App and Bpp position after treatment. The distance of point App-Bpp and point App’-Bpp’ were analized using paired t test, meanwhile the changes of point App and Bpp position after treatment were analized using one sample test. The movement of point App and Bpp was analyzed using descriptive and chi square. The distances of point App-Bpp and App’-Bpp’ didn’t change significantly (p>0,05), meanwhile the position of point App and Bpp changed significantly (p<0,05). The result shows there is no reducing in distance for point App-Bpp but point App-Bpp changed position to anterior after orthodontic treatment using Begg technique appliance.
