Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi masyarakat Baghdad akibat Perang Teluk dalam novel Sa’atu Bagdada karya Shahad Ar-Rawi. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori sosiologi sastra. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teori sosiologi sastra adalah teori yang membahas keadaan masyarakat di dunia nyata. Adapun metode deskriptif kualitatif adalah metode dengan cara menguraikan fakta-fakta berupa pemaparan atau kondisi dalam bentuk uraian naratif. Dari penelitian ini, diperoleh kesimpulan sebagai berikut. Pertama, kondisi Baghdad selama Perang Teluk yang tergambar dalam novel Sa’atu Bagdada adalah terjadinya pengungsian. Kedua, adanya ketidakamanan. Ketiga, sanksi embargo. Keempat, terjadinya ketergangguan pada emosi masyarakat.

This research aims to determine the conditions of Baghdad society as a result of the Gulf War in the novel Sa’atu Bagdada by Shahad Ar-R?w?. The theory used in this research is literary sociological theory. The analytical method used is the qualitative descriptive method. Literary sociological theory is a theory that discusses the conditions of society in the real world. The qualitative descriptive method is a method that describes facts in the form of presentations or conditions in the form of narrative descriptions. From this research, the following conclusions were obtained. First, the conditions of Baghdad as result of the Gulf War as depicted in the novel Sa’atu Bagdada are displacement occurs. Second, there is riot and insecurity. Third, embargo sanctions. Fourth, there is disturbance in people’s emotions.
