Tesis ini membahas tentang bagaimana mengestimasi parameter butir pada model 2-PL dan model 3-PL dengan menggunakan metode maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) yang selanjutnya kedua model tersebut dibandingkan untuk mengetahui model mana yang lebih sesuai dengan Studi Kasus. Ada 115 peserta tes dan 25 butir soal berbentuk pilihan ganda. Hasil analisis data pada model dua dan tiga parameter logistik dengan bantuan software BilogMG menyatakan bahwa butir soal lebih banyak pada kriteria cukup baik. Hasil perbandingan model dua dan tiga parameter menyatakan bahwa model tiga parameter yang lebih sesuai menggambarkan butir soal.

This thesis discusses how to estimate item parameters in 2-PL model and 3-PL model using maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) method which then the two models are compared in order know which model is more suitable with Case Study. There were 115 test takers and 25 items of multiple choice. The results of data analysis on two models and three parameters logistic with the help of BilogMG software stated that more items on the criteria are quite good. The results of the comparison of two models and three parameters suggest that a more suitable three-parameter model illustrates the item.
