ANALISIS FUNGSI EDUKATIF PESAN GAMBAR PADA KEMASAN ROKOK TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP MAHASISWA BUKAN PEROKOK DI UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA YOGYAKARTA

Latar Belakang: Indonesia telah menerapkan PP RI Nomor 109 Tahun 2012 yang mengatur dan mewajibkan penggunaan pesan gambar pada kemasan rokok. Selain untuk meningkatkan intensi berhenti merokok pada perokok aktif, kebijakan ini juga bertujuan untuk memberikan perlindungan, informasi, dan edukasi kepada bukan perokok. Tujuan: Mengetahui fungsi edukatif pesan gambar pada kemasan rokok terhadap tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap mahasiswa bukan perokok di Universitas Gadjah Mada. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan survei evaluatif cross-sectional. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa S1 Universitas Gadjah Mada yang bukan perokok aktif. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner online. Analisis hasil penelitian diolah menggunakan program SPSS 21. Hasil: Analisis deskriptif kategorik menunjukkan hasil sebagian besar responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang baik terhadap bahaya merokok dan sikap yang positif terhadap tidak merokok. Terdapat perbedaan rerata tingkat pengetahuan yang bermakna antara klaster Medika dengan klaster Sosial-Humaniora (p = 0,008). Tidak terdapat perbedaan sikap yang bermakna pada responden antarklaster (p = 0,511). Tidak ada perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan tentang bahaya merokok maupun sikap terhadap tidak merokok antara responden laki-laki dan perempuan. Secara umum, fungsi edukatif dari pesan gambar terhadap tingkat pengetahuan tentang bahaya merokok dan sikap terhadap tidak merokok positif. Gambar "merokok dapat menyebabkan kanker tenggorokan" mendapat respons positif tertinggi terhadap fungsi edukatifnya. Sebaliknya, gambar "merokok membunuhmu" paling sedikit mendapatkan respons positif. Kesimpulan: Fungsi edukatif pesan gambar pada kemasan rokok positif, tingkat pengetahuan tentang bahaya merokok baik, dan sikap terhadap tidak merokok positif.

Background: Indonesia has applied PP RI Nomor 109 Tahun 2012 that regulates and obligates the use of pictorial health warning in cigarette package. Not only improving intention to stop smoking in smokers, the purpose of PP RI Nomor 109 Tahun 2012 is also giving protection, information, and education to non-smokers. Objective: This research showed the influence of educational function in increasing level of knowledge and attitude toward not smoking in non-smoker students of Universitas Gadjah Mada. Method: This was a descriptive evaluative survey with cross-sectional research design. The research subjects were bachelor-degree students of Universitas Gadjah Mada who were non-smokers. This research used an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed by SPSS 21 program. Results: The majority of subjects had good level of knowledge about smoking negative effects and positive attitude toward not smoking. There were significant mean difference between level of knowledge in Medical cluster and Social cluster (p = 0,008). In the other hand, no significant mean difference between attitude toward not smoking in all clusters (p = 0,511). There were no significant mean difference of knowledge and attitude toward not smoking in males and females. Overall, educational function of pictorial health warning in cigarette package in increasing level of knowledge and attitude toward not smoking was positive. The pictorial health warning of "smoking causing throat cancer" got the highest proportion of positive response toward its educational function. Oppositely, the pictorial health warning of "smoking kills you" got the lowest proportion of positive response. Conclusion: Educational function of pictorial health warning in cigarette pack was positive, level of knowledge was good, and attitude toward not smoking was positive
