IDIOM BERUNSUR ORGAN TUBUH MANUSIA DALAM BAHASA INGGRIS (sebuah tinjauan sintaksis dan semantik)

Penelitian ini membahas tentang sintaksis dan semantik yang terdapat pada idiom berunsur organ tubuh manusia dalam bahasa Inggris. Di dalam penelitian ini terdapat lima rumusan masalah yaitu (1) bagian tubuh apa sajakah yang digunakan dalam idiom berunsur organ tubuh dalam bahasa Inggris, (2) mengapa bagian tubuh tertentu digunakan untuk membentuk idiom tersebut (3) apa sajakah variasi struktur pembentuk idiom berunsur organ tubuh dalam bahasa Inggris, (4) fungsi idiom berunsur organ tubuh dalam bahasa Inggris, (5) serta bagaimana kecenderungan secara kuantitatif perhitungan idiom berunsur organ tubuh dalam bahasa Inggris? Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yaitu penghitungan yang didasarkan pada perolehan data dengan cara menyimak, membaca, mencatat dan mengamati sumber data acuan, dalam hal ini kamus idiom yang digunakan penulis dengan sedikit perhitungan matematis guna memperoleh prosentase jumlah data yang didapat berdasarkan organ tubuh tertentu. Hasil analisis penelitian ini menemukan alasan organ tubuh tertentu digunakan dalam idiom bahasa Inggris serta terdapat dua macam idiom Berbahasa Inggris yaitu idiom penuh dan sebagian. Idiom berbentuk frasa dibedakan menjadi frasa nomina, frasa preposisi, frasa ajektif serta frasa verba. Idiom dilihat dari kelas katanya terdiri dari perpaduan antara ;N+N, Adj + N, N+ Adj, V+ N, V + Pro + N, Adv + N, N + Adv,serta Adv + Pro + N. Sedangkan fungsi idiom berunsur organ tubuh dalam bahasa Inggris di antaranya untuk menyampaikan informasi, ekspresi perasaan hati, perintah ataupun larangan, serta fungsi fatis. This research discusses about syntaxes and sematic features on English idiom of body parts. In this research there are five issues of the problem formulation. They are; (1) what are the body parts used in English idiom and (2) why those parts of body used in English Idiom, (3) what are the variation structures used in body parts English idiom, (4) what are the functions of body parts idiom in English and (5) how are the tendencies of quantitative calculation in English Idiom of body parts. This study is a descriptive qualitative using quantitative study, it means that the data collection based on listening, reading, taking notes and observing the data source reference, in this case the idiom dictionary used by the author, and with some of mathematical calculations to obtain the amount percentage of data based on certain organs. The result of the analysis in this study found the reason of certain organs used in English idiom of body parts. Moreover, there are two kinds of idioms there are full and partial. Phrases of English idiom of body parts divided into a noun phrase, prepositional phrase, adjective phrase and verb phrase. The combination of English idiom of body parts consisted of ; N + N, Adj + N, N + Adj, V + N, V + Pro + N, Adv + N, N + Adv, and Adv + Pro + N and the function of English idiom of body parts such as to convey information, expression of mood, command or prohibition, and also the phatic function.
