Pemikiran Karl Marx tentang Kelas Menengah; Tinjauan Filsafat Sejarah

Penelitian yang berjudul "Pemikiran Karl Marx tentang Kelas Menengah (Tinjauan Filsafat Sejarah)" ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perkembangan kelas menengah yang semakin meluas, khususnya di bidang politik, ekonomi dan kebudayaan. Di Indonesia sendiri, kajian kelas menengah pun semakin berkembang seiring dengan meningkatnya Gross Domestic Product (GDP) dan daya beli masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Karl Marx dan berfokus pada permasalahan: Apa pemikiran Karl Marx tentang kelas menengah? Bagaimana posisi sejarah (secara umum) dalam filsafat sejarah? Apa peran kelas menengah Karl Marx dalam proses sejarah masyarakat? Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan filsafat sejarah untuk menelaah lebih dalam mengenai peranan kelas menengah Karl Marx. Data diperoleh dari studi pustaka; baik berupa buku, karya tulis skripsi maupun jurnal. Objek formal penelitian ini adalah filsafat sejarah dan objek materialnya sendiri kelas menengah. Selanjutnya kedua objek tersebut diolah dengan menggunakan kerangka metodis deskripsi, pemahaman, interpretasi, hermeneutika dan komparatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kelas menengah menempati peran-peran yang cukup strategis dalam perkembangan masyarakat. Posisi kelas ini lebih tampak mencerminkan ikatan nilai dan gaya hidup daripada mencerminkan representasi kelas yang berkepentingan untuk mengambil peranan kelas sosial. Sebagai individu keberadaan kelas menengah memiliki peran yang besar di era kapitalisme. Tetapi sebagai kelas sosial, kelas menengah adalah kelas yang tidak mengambil peran besar dalam perubahan sejarah, terutama apabila dibandingkan dengan kelas borjuis dan proletar.

This "The Middle Class on Karl Marx Theory" (Philosophy of History perspective)" is motivated by the development of a middle class, particularly in the fields of politics, economics, and culture. In Indonesia, the study of the middle class is also growing with the increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and purchasing power. This study uses the theories of Karl Marx and focuses on the problems: What is Karl Marx's thought about the middle class? How does the position of history (generally) in the philosophy of history? What are the roles of the middle class of Karl Marx in the history of society? This study uses historical philosophical approach to examine more deeply about the role of the middle class of Karl Marx. Data were obtained from the literature; either books, theses and journal papers. Formal object of this research is the philosophy of history and material object itself is middle class. Furthermore, using a methodical framework description, understanding, interpretation, hermeneutics and comparative processes the object. The results of this study indicate that the middle class occupies roles in the strategic development of the society. The position of this class appears to reflect more bonds than the values and lifestyles that reflect the representation of the class's interest to take the role of social class. As a middle-class itself, individual existence has a big role in the era of capitalism. But as a social class, the middle class is a class that does not take a large role in changing history, especially when it compared with the bourgeoisie and the proletariat.
