INTISARI Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan pemetaan penggunaan lahan di Kecamatan Mlati dan Depok serta menghitung besar luasan kelas penggunaan lahannya, sehingga dapat memperbaharui informasi penggunaan lahan di kedua kecamatan tersebut dan dapat digunakan sebagai pertimbangan dalam evaluasi pemanfaatan lahan. Prinsip kebijakan terhadap lahan yang tepat dapat mengoptimalkan penggunaan lahan dan pengadaan lahan sesuai dengan kepentingan masyarakat. Metode Interpretasi citra yang digunakan dengan proses mengkaji citra untuk mengidentifikasi obyek. Interpretasi citra dilakukan secara visual dengan pendekatan kunci interpretasi. Hasil interpretasi dibuat kedalam sebuah peta penggunaan lahan sementara (tentatif) yang siap untuk dicek di lapangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa peta dan besar luasan lahan untuk mengetahui luas area tiap kelas penggunaan lahan di Kecamatan Mlati dan Depok, Kabupaten Sleman. Dari hasil analisis didapatkan luas areal lahan pertanian di Kecamatan Mlati terhadap area lahan terbangun (non pertanian) adalah 12576085 m2 atau 44.24% dari total luas penggunaan lahan. Luas lahan pertanian tersebut lebih besar bila dibandingkan dengan Kecamatan Depok yaitu dengan luas 6248500 m2 atau 18.14 % dari total luas penggunaan lahan. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to conduct land use mapping in the subdistrict of Depok and as well as calculate Mlati large extents of its class, so that it can renew land use information on both the district and can be used as a consideration in the evaluation of land use. Policy principles of the right of land can optimize land uses and land procurement in accordance with the interests of the community. Image Interpretation method used in the process of reviewing the image to identify the object. Image interpretation is done visually with a key approach to interpretation. Interpretation of the results is made into a temporary land use map (tentative) are ready to check in the field. The results of this research in the form of maps and a large area of land to find out the area of each land use class in the subdistrict of Depok and Mlati, Sleman. From the analysis results obtained vast acreage of farmland in district land area awoke to Mlati (non farm) is 12576085 m2, or 44.24 % of the total area of land use. The farmland area is larger when compared with the Subdistrict of Depok that is with an area of 6248500 m2 or at 18.14 % of the total area of land use.
