ANALISA KERUSAKAN SPHERICAL BEARING PADA CYLINDER BOOM HITACHI EXCAVATOR EX3600-6

Cylinder boom adalah salah satu komponen eksavator yang berfungsi sebagai aktuator untuk menggerakkan boom. Komponen utama cylinder boom adalah tube, piston, cylinder head, rod, slow return, cushion bearing, nut dan spherical bearing. Jika cylinder boom tidak dapat bekerja, disebabkan oleh kerusakan salah satu komponen silinder tersebut maka eksavator tidak akan beroperasi. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian adalah mengapa silinder tersebut tidak dapat berfungsi. Metode yang digunakan pada tugas akhir ini yaitu mengumpulkan data dari beberapa literature, melakukan pengamatan langsung terhadap kerusakan yang terjadi pada spherical bearing serta melakukan wawancara dengan mekanik dan foreman yang berpengalaman. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis untuk mengetahui kerusakan pada cylinder boom. Hasil dari analisa kerusakan spherical bearing adalah injector jammed. Injektor yang macet dapat mengakibatkan grease tidak dapat menginjeksi, sehingga spherical bearing menjadi kering kemudian pecah.

Cylinder boom is a component of the excavator and serves as actuator to move boom so the works. The main components of cylinder boom are tube, piston, cylinder head, rod, slow return, cushion bearing, nut and spherical bearing. If cylinder boom doesn't work as caused by damage of it’s components, so than the excavator will not function. Hence, the purpose of this study, that is to analyze why such cylinders fail to function. The methods used for this final report are collecting some literature, direct observation to the spherical bearing and interview to some expert (mechanics and foreman). Those data were then analyze to perform critical understanding of work cause cylinder boom to failure. The result of the analyze is about the jammed injector. The jammed injector is the cause of the malfunction grease injection. In the end, the spherical bearing become dry and broken.
