KAJIAN TEKSTUAL MUSIKALISASI PUISI KARYA UNTUNG BASUKI

Musikalisasi puisi adalah sebuah genre baru dalam seni pertunjukan. Musikalisasi ini adalah sebuah karya seni yang menggabungkan dua seni yang berbeda media menjadi kesatuan bentuk yang tunggal yaitu penggabungan puisi dan musik. Pertanyaan penelitian yang diangkat dalam tesis ini adalah bagaimana keterkaitan Musikalisasi Puisi karya Untung Basuki dengan Art Song, tema pokok apa saja yang tercermin dalam karya-karya musikalisasi puisi Untung Basuki, bagaimana Untung Basuki menyikapi hubungan puisi dan musik pada karya-karyanya tersebut. Untuk itu penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif, dengan data utama biografi Untung Basuki dan karya-karya musikalisasi puisinya. Analisis tekstual dilakukan dengan cara menemukan keterkaitan antara teks puisi dengan lagunya. Tesis ini menjumpai hal-hal berikut: 1). Karya musikalisasi puisi Untung Basuki merupakan bentuk perkembangan dan perubahan dari karya Art Song pada Jaman Romantik, 2). Diperoleh tema perenungan hidup, alam, percintaan, kritik sosial dan ekpresi diri dalam kara-karya lagu puisinya, 3). Tidak ada kata-kata dalam puisi yang diubah maupun dihilangkan, sehingga hasil dari analisis tersebut menjelaskan musik dikalahkan oleh puisi. 4). Karya puisinya merupakan bentuk puisi modern dengan bentuk yang tidak beraturan, 5). Bentuk struktur puisi dan bentuk struktur musiknya menjadi berbeda karena proses alih wahana, 6). Beberapa karya musikalisasinya yang mempunyai kesamaan dan perbedaan penekanan suku kata pada puisinya jika dibaca secara terpisah tanpa iringan musik, 7). Penekanan kata dalam bentuk lagu selalu terjadi pada akhir kalimat yang berada pada posisi ketukan kuat, hal ini dilakukan untuk meminimalis ketidak sesuaian pemenggalan kata yang erat hubungannya dengan pemahaman puisinya.

Poetry singing is a new genre in art performance. This art work combines two different arts media into a single unitary form that is the combination of poetry and music. Research questions that are raised in this thesis are how the relationship of Untung Basuki‟s Poetry Singing with Art Song is, what basic themes are reflected in Untung Basuki‟s poetry singing ‟s works, how Untung Basuki addresses the poetry and music‟s relationship in his works with the purpose to look for the relationship of Untung Basuki‟s poetry singing ‟s works with Art Song‟s in Romantic Era, to search for the emerging theme in his works and to seek for the relationship of poetry text with his songs. For that, the research is carried out qualitatively, with the main data that is the biography of Untung Basuki and his poetry singing ‟s works. Textual analysis is done by finding out the relationship between poetry text with its song. This thesis encounters the followings: 1.) Untung Basuki‟s poetry singing ‟s works can be regarded as further development and change forms from Art Song‟s in Romantic Era, 2.) The emerging theme from his work is influenced by the background of his art activity, personal experiences and his social sensitivity so that it is obtanined the themes about life contemplation, nature, romance, social criticism and self expression, 3.) There are no words in the poetry that are either changed or eliminated, so that music is subjugated by poetry 4.) The use of the irregular phrases also show that his poetry works are the modern ones with irregular shapes, 5.) The shapes of his poetry and music structure become different because of the process of medium transformation 6.) Some of his works which have syllable stressing similarity in his poetry if they are read separately without music accompaniment, and some of his works have different word stressing in the song form with those in the poetry, however this does not influence the content delivery and poetry meaning to the listeners at all, since syllable stressing, music phrases are similar to poetry phrases, and the decoding of words do not have any changes that can change the meaning of the poetry, 7.) Word stressing in the song always happen at the end of the sentences that are in strong beat positions, this is done to minimize the discrepancy decoding of word which is closely related to the understanding of the poetry.
