‚MASATUN BI HAJMI ‘AINI AL-FARASI‛ DALAM ANTOLOGI CERPEN WARDATUN FI AL-MU‘TAQALI AL-KHAYYAMI KARYA JAMAL JUNAID: ANALISIS STRUKTURAL ROBERT STANTON

Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui unsur-unsur intrinsik pada cerpen ‚Ma>satun bi H}ajmi ‘Aini al-Farasi‛ dalam antologi cerpen Wardatun fi< Mu‘taqali al-Khayya>m karya Jama>l Junaid serta keterkaitan antarunsurnya dalam menghasilkan satu kesatuan makna. Dengan demikian, teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori analisis struktural. Unsur-unsur intrinsik yang dibahas dalam cerpen ini meliputi tema; fakta cerita yang terdiri atas alur, tokoh dan penokohan, serta latar; dan dua sarana sastra yakni judul dan sudut pandang. Dari penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tema cerpen ‚Ma>satun bi H}ajmi ‘Aini al-Farasi‛ adalah kesewenang-wenangan golongan atas terhadap golongan bawah yang menyebabkan terjadinya kesengsaraan dan dendam. Tema tersebut melekat pada tokoh utama dan dikuatkan oleh para tokoh tambahan. Tokoh utamanya adalah si Aku yang dulunya bernama Ma‘ru>f al-Wa>d}ih}, tokoh tambahannya adalah pemilik restoran dan lelaki kalangan atas. Alur pada cerpen ini ialah alur progresif. Cerpen ini memiliki latar tempat, latar waktu, dan latar sosial. Latar tempatnya adalah jalanan, restoran, kamar, kebun, sudut gang, bangunan rusak, kuburan, dan istana. Latar waktu pada cerpen ini hanya pada beberapa kejadian, yaitu: hari pertama si Aku bekerja, suatu hari setelah beberapa tahun, dan mendekati tengah malam. Selain itu, judul cerpen ‚Ma>satun bi H}ajmi ‘Aini al-Farasi‛ yang diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia menjadi ‚Berlian Seukuran Mata Kuda‛, sesuai dengan isi cerpen ini yang bersudut pandang orang pertama. Semua unsur-unsur intrinsik berkaitan antara unsur yang satu dengan yang lainnya, seperti tema dengan tokoh, alur, dan latar; tokoh dengan judul dan alur. Oleh karena itu, cerpen ini memiliki keutuhan makna yang dihasilkan dari keterkaitan antarunsur tersebut.

The objective of this research is to reveal the intrinsic elements contained in the short story of ‚Ma>satun bi H}ajmi ‘Aini al-Farasi‛ in the stories anthology by Jama>l Junaid and the linkages between each element in creating the story’s coherence. Therefore, this research uses structural analysis. Intrinsic elements examined in this research are the theme; the facts of story which consists of figures and characterizations, plot, and background, and the literary device are limited into the title of story and point of view. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the theme of this short story is the oppressions towards high class to lower class which lead into grudge and sorrow. The theme is reflected by the characterization of main character and supported by supporting characters. The main character is ‚I‛ who had name Ma‘ru>f al-Wa>d}ih, the supporting characters are Cafe’s Boss and the guy in the high position. It is also appropriate with progressive plot and the background of the story. The backgrounds of place are in the way, cafe, chamber, garden, corner of alley, broke basement, cemetery, and palace. Some backgrounds of time are in the first day ‚I‛ work, one day after years, and one night to midnight. The title ‚Ma>satun bi H}ajmi ‘Aini al-Farasi‛ is well-matched with the first person and point of view in this story. All intrinsic elements are linked each other, for instance theme with characters, plot, and backgrounds, characters with title and plot. Hence, the coherence of the short story is relied on the relationship between the linked of intrinsic elements.
