KEJADIAN GUMBORO AKUT DI PETERNAKAN AYAM BROILER “EDI SISWORO 4” ( ES4 ) JATMIKO FARM MBOKONG, MARGOKATON, SEYEGAN, SLEMAN, YOGYAKARTA PERIODE 01 FEBRUARI SAMPAI 02 MARET 2013

Penyakit Gumborodisebut juga Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD) atau Avian Nephrosis. Gumboro adalah suatu penyakit viral yang bersifat akut dan sangat mudah menular. Gumboro menyerang semua jenis ayam, baik pedaging maupun petelur. Penyakit ini menjadi penghambat utama terhadap produktivitas dan menimbulkan kerugian ekonomi yang tinggi pada usaha peternakan ayam. Tujuan dari penulisan tugas akhir untuk mengetahui kejadian penyakit Gumboro dan penanggulangan yang dilakukan di peternakan ayam broilerES4 Jatmiko Farm, Mbokong, Margokaton, Seyegan, Sleman,Yogyakarta. Penyusunan tugas akhir ini diambil dari kegiatan Praktek Kerja Lapangan Manajemen Unggas yang dilakukan pada tanggal 25 Februari sampai 2 Maret 2013. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan praktek langsung ke kandang melihat kondisi ayam,melakukan perawatan rutin setiap hari, seleksi ayam yang sakit, dan melakukan penanganan serta tanya jawab dengan penanggung jawab peternakan. Dari data yang diperoleh, penyakit yang sering menyerang ayam dipeternakan ini adalah Gumboro (Infectious Bursal Disease) dan CRD (Chronic Respiratory Disease). Gumboro merupakan penyakit yang paling banyak menyerang ayam di peternakan ayam broilerkandang utara ES4 Jatmiko Farm daripada penyakit yang lain, pada periode 01 Februari sampai 02 Maret 2013. Berdasar data yang diperoleh, Gumboro menyerang ayam di peternakan ini mulai umur 22 hari. Prosentase jumlah ayam yang mati terkena Gumboro akut sekitar 4%, sedangkan jumlah kematian ayam dalam satu periode mencapai 6,5%. Program penanganan terhadap penyakit Gumboro yang telah dilakukan antara lain: pemberian terapi suportif dan pelaksanaan desinfeksi secara ritun.

Infectious Bursal Disease or in Javanese commonly known as gumboro infected all kinds of chicken, whether the broiler or the layer ones. The disease is a main delayer of the chicken productivity and this condition decreases the operating profit of either broiler or layer chicken farm. The intention of this final task are to observe the cases of gumboro and to describe the anticipations taken by Jatmiko Farm to cope with the disease that spreads to its broiler at Jatmiko Farm’s ES4 Northern chicken house located in Mbokong, Margokaton, Seyegan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The writing of the final task is a follow up of the Fieldwork Practice Program held by The Poultry Management Department during February 25 th until March 2 nd 2013. The data taken methodically with direct practices to the chicken house to observe the chickens health in their 24 th day of age, to carry out the daily checkup, to select the chickens that was infected, and gave some treatments. There was some interviews held to gain informations from the people responsible for the farm. From the collected data, it could be diagnosed that the disease infected the chickens was gumboro (Infectious Bursal Disease) and CDR (Chronic Respiratory Disease). Gumboro is an ilness mostly infected broiler chicken at Jatmiko Farm’s ES4 Northern chicken house more than other diseases infected the chicken in these three periods. From the data, it turned out that gumboro infected the chicken in their 22 th until 29 th day (harvest time). With a good and correct anticipation to the ilness, we expect that the case of gumboro can be reduced or minimized, so that the operating profit of chicken farm, either broiler or layer ones, are not so drastically decreased.
