Performance evaluation of supply networks configuration using scorecard :: Case study PT Suba Indah, Tbk

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konfigurasi supply networks dan koordinasi pada PT. Suba Indah, Tbk, mengukur kinerja supply chain dari PT. Suba Indah, Tbk dengan menggunakan metode SCORcard, dan membandingkan kinerja supply chain PT. Suba Indah, Tbk saat ini dan masa lalu, dalam hal ini tahun 2003 dibandingkan dengan tahun 2004. Atribut-atribut kinerja dalam penelitian ini berdasar pada metrik kinerja SCOR level 1. Metode penelitian dimulai dengan mengumpulkan data customer, internal dan shareholder facing yang tertera pada SCORcard dari database internal perusahaan dan laporan keuangan. Wawancara dilakukan dengan manajemen untuk mengeksplor konfigurasi da n koordinasi supply networks perusahaan. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) digunakan untuk mendapatkan bobot setiap atribut kinerja. Objective matrix (OMAX) digunakan untuk menggabungkan semua angka kinerja kedalam satu angka sehingga manajemen dapat mengevaluasi kinerja supply chain saat ini dan masa lalu. PT. Suba Indah, Tbk memiliki konfigurasi supply networks yang terkonsentrasi dan koordinasi antara pabrik Cilegon dan kanotr pusat di Jakarta adalah sangat terkoordinasi. Dengan menggunakan atribut-atribut kinerja pada SCORcard, kinerja supply chain perusahaan dari tahun 2003 ke 2004 diketahui ada yang meningkat, menurun, maupun tetap. Atribut-atribut yang bertambah baik adalah order fulfillment lead time, cash-to-cash-cycle-time, asset turns, net operating income, dan return on asset. Atribut -atribut yang bertambah buruk adalah fill rates, cost of goods, value added productivity, warranty/returns processing cost, inventory days of supply, gross margin , dan operating income. Sedangkan atribut-atribut yang tetap adalah delivery performance, perfect order fulfillment, supply chain response time, dan production flexibility. Hasil dari AHP ditemukan bahwa perusahaan menaruh preferensi yang besar pada perfect order fulfillment (24.9%) diikuti dengan order fulfillment lead time dan supply chain response time yang memiliki preferensi yang sama (13.9%). Sedangkan preferensi yang paling sedikit ada pada gross margin (0.4%) diikuti dengan warranty/returns processing cost (0.5%). Secara keseluruhan, dengan menggunakan OMAX, kinerja supply chain saat ini (tahun 2004) dari segmen pengolahan dan perdagangan jagung PT. Suba Indah, Tbk dibandingkan dengan kinerja masa lalu (tahun 2003) mengalami peningkatan sebesar 15.58%.

This paper aimed to identify the supply networks configuration and coordination of PT. Suba Indah, Tbk, to measure the supply chain performance of PT. Suba Indah, Tbk using SCORcard method, and to compare the current supply chain performance of PT. Suba Indah, Tbk with the previous performance, in this case year 2003 compare to year 2004. The performance attributes in this research was based on SCOR level 1 performance metrics. The research method started with collecting customer, internal, and shareholder facing data listed on SCORcard template from the company’s internal database and financial statement. Interview with the management was done to explore the company’s supply networks configuration and coordination. Analytical hierarchy process (AHP) was used to get the weight of each performance attribute. Objective matrix (OMAX) used to crunches all performance numbers into a single one so that management can evaluate the current and previous supply chain performance. PT. Suba Indah, Tbk has a concentrated supply networks configuration and the coordination between Cilegon factory and Jakarta head office is highly coordinated. Using performance attributes in the SCORcard, the supply chain performance of the company from year 2003 to 2004 was known to be improve, decline, and even stagnant. Attributes that getting better were order fulfillment lead time, cash-to-cash-cycle -time, asset turns, net operating income, and return on asset. Attributes that getting worsen were fill rates, cost of goods, value added productivity, warranty/returns processing cost, inventory days of supply, gross margin and operating income. While attributes that remain the same were delivery performance, perfect order fulfillment, supply chain response time, and production flexibility. The result of AHP found that the company gave the highest preference on perfect order fulfillment (24.9%) followed by order fulfillment lead time and supply chain response time that has the same preference (13.9%). Whereas the least preference was on gross margin (0.4%) followed by warranty/returns processing cost (0.5%). In overall, by using OMAX, the current (year 2004) supply chain performance of corn wet-milling and corn refining manufacturing and trading segment of PT. Suba Indah, Tbk compare to previous (year 2003) performance was showing an improvement in amount of 15.58%.
