Dampak fisik, sosial dan ekonomi industri genteng di Kecamatan Godean Kabupaten Sleman

Kecamatan Godean merupakan daerah pengembangan ekonomi di bagian barat Kabupaten Sleman dengan berbasis pertanian dan industri kecil. Industri kecil yang ada dan berkembang pesat adalah industri genteng. Perkembangan industri ini mampu berperan dalam membentuk struktur perekonomian kecamatan Godean. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perkembangan industri genteng dan dampaknya terhadap kehidupan masyarakat secara sosial dan ekonomi serta perkembangan fisik desa Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan rasionalistik. Variabel terpengaruh adalah perkembangan industri genteng dengan variabel pengaruh faktor-faktor internal berupa bahan baku, modal, tenaga kerja dan sarana prasarana dan faktor eksternal yang terdiri dari pemasaran, transportasi dan kebijakan pemerintah. Untuk mengetahui dampak perkembangan industri, ditemukenali dari kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat sekitar dan perkembangan fisik desa . Analisis tabel silang dan interpretasi secara kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Disimpulkan bahwa perkembangan industri genteng Godean dipengaruhi oleh kedekatan dengan bahan mentahnya sehingga biaya produksi menjadi murah, penggunaan modal pinjaman serta peranan pemerintah dalam membentuk wilayah industri baru. Dampak ekonomi bersifat positif yaitu dapat meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat sekitar, menyerap tenaga kerja, menciptakan peluang usaha, serta mengurangi kemiskinan pedesaan. Dampak sosial belum banyak perubahan dalam perilaku masyarakat sekitar terhadap kehidupan masyarakat pedesaan . Namun yang patut dikawatirkan adalah tingkat mobilitas tenaga kerja yang relatif tinggi dapat mempengaruhi kondisi sosial masyarakat dan lingkungannya seperti memudarnya sifat kekeluargaan dan mudahnya penularan penyakit. Dampak terhadap perkembangan fisik desa adalah terdapatnya konversi lahan pertanian serta meningkatnya kondisi rumah sehat pengrajin dan masyarakat sekitar dan sanitasi dasar yang lebih baik. Namun kondisi rumah dan sanitasi dasar tersebut masih di bawah rata-rata kondisi rumah sehat dan sanitasi dasar masyarakat lainnya serta terjadinya penurunan kualitas permukiman pedesaan.

Godean sub-district is an economic development area in the western part of Sleman regency, which is based on agriculture and small-scale industry. Roof tile industry is one of its fast growing industries. The growth of thus industry gives contribution to the development of economic structure in Godean subdistrict. Therefore, this paper aims to know the factors that influence the growth of roof tile industry and its impact to the social , economic life as well as physical development in rural areas. The research adopted a qualitative and descriptive method and rationalistic approach. The affected variable is the growth of the industry with the affecting variables of internal factors such as raw material, capital, labour, and infrastructure and facilities; while the external factors are marketing, transportation, and the government policy. To the end of knowing the impact of industry development, the research relied on the social and economic condition of the surrounding community and rural physical development. A crosscheck tabulation analysis and qualitative interpretation were used. The research concludes that the development of roof tile industry in Godean is affected by the proximity to the raw material, which causes low production cost, the assistance of borrowed capital, and the government’s contribution in establishing a new industrial area. The economic impact is positive, i.e., increasing the income and welfare of the surrounding community, absorbing labour force, creating new business opportunities, and decreasing rural poverty. The social impact has not given much influence to the change of surrounding community’s attitude toward rural community life. However, it must become our concern that relatively high mobility of labour force is potential to affect the social condition of the society and environment, such as the thinning of family relationship and the vulnerability to disease infection. The impacts for rural physical development are agricultural land conversion and improvement to healthy houses and better basic sanitation. However, the condition of healthy houses and basic sanitation is still lower than the average of those of other societies, while at the same time, the quality of rural settlement is decreasing.
