Perencanaan Tebal Perkerasan Kaku pada Jalan Tol Yogyakarta - Bawen dengan Metode Bina Marga 2003 dan AASHTO 1993

Dalam mendukung program pemerintah, yakni Proyek Strategi Nasional, dilakukan pembangunan Jalan Tol Yogyakarta - Bawen dengan tujuan meningkatkan konektivitas dan aksesibilitias serta menunjang sektor pariwisata dengan trase yang melewati destinasi wisata, yaitu Candi Borobudur. Jalan tol Yogyakarta - Bawen direncanakan dapat melayani lalu lintas selama umur rencana tertentu dengan jenis perkerasan kaku, sehingga diperlukan adanya perencanaan tebal struktur perkerasan. Penelitian Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan metode perencanaan perkerasan kaku antara Bina Marga 2003 dan AASHTO 1993 dengan mempertimbangkan kondisi area jalan tol tersebut. Perancangan tebal perkerasan menggunakan metode Bina Marga 2003 dan AASHTO 1993 dengan bantuan software Microsoft Excel. Metode Bina Marga 2003 secara mekanistik-empiris mengolah beban kendaraan dan volume lalu lintas harian menjadi jumlah sumbu kendaraaan niaga sehingga didapat tebal minimum pelat beton dan lapis fondasi untuk jumlah sumbu tersebut. Sedangkan metode AASHTO 1993 dengan pendekatan empiris, merencanakan tebal berdasarkan variabel-variabel hasil penelitian terdahulu sehingga tebal dapat melayani beban kendaraan rencana di atasnya. Kedua metode juga mempertimbangkan kondisi lingkungan jalan dan karakteristik jalan rencana, seperti nilai CBR tanah, curah hujan pada rute jalan, fungsi jalan, jumlah lajur rencana, dan material yang akan digunakan. Hasil perencanaan tebal perkerasan kaku menggunakan metode Bina Marga 2003 adalah 220 mm pelat beton, 75 mm lapis drainase, 150 mm cement treated base, dan 200 mm lapis fondasi agregat kelas B. Sedangkan metode AASHTO 1993 menghasilkan 300 mm pelat beton, 75 mm lapis drainase, 150 mm lapis cement treated base, dan 200 mm lapis fondasi agregat kelas B. Walaupun tebal pelat beton dari kedua metode tersebut memiliki perbedaan sebesar 80 mm, kedua metode tetap aman digunakan untuk melayani lalu lintas selama umur rencana jalan.

In support of the government's program named the National Strategy Project (PSN), a road construction of the Yogyakarta - Bawen Toll Road was carried out to increase connectivity and accessibility as well as support the tourism sector with a route that passes through tourist destinations, namely Borobudur Temple. The Yogyakarta - Bawen toll road is planned to serve traffic during a certain design life with rigid pavement, so it is necessary to design a pavement structure thickness. This final project research was conducted to compare the rigid pavement designing methods between Bina Marga 2003 and AASHTO 1993 by considering the condition of the toll road area. Pavement thickness will be designed using Bina Marga 2003 method and AASHTO 1993 guide. Bina Marga 2003 is using the mechanistic-empirical method by calculating vehicle load and traffic volume to represent the cumulative total number of standard axles so the concrete slab and base course thicknesses can be determined. AASHTO 1993 is using the empirical method by designing pavement thickness based on previous studies' variables so the pavement can provide service to the traffic. Both methods also take into consideration of road's area environment and road design characteristics such as CBR value, amount of rainfall, type of road, and concrete material that will be used. The results of rigid pavement thickness using the Bina Marga 2003 method are 220 mm of concrete slab, 75 mm of the drainage layer, 150 mm of the cement-treated base, and 200 mm of aggregate subbase course. While the AASHTO 1993 method results are 300 mm of concrete slab, 75 mm of the drainage layer, 150 mm of the cement-treated base, and 200 mm of aggregate subbase course. Although the thickness of the concrete slab from the two methods has an 80 mm difference, the results of both methods are still safe to support a traffic load throughout the pavement's design period.
