In this capstone project, a power bank system sourced from solar panels is designed as an alternative to a smartphone power supply to support online learning for school students in areas not yet covered by PLN electricity. Multiple USB outputs are used to increase system reliability so that many smartphones can carry out the charging process. A solar panel power bank can also be said to have good reliability if it can maximize battery capacity while still paying attention to its health level. To improve the reliability of the system, an automatic control system or a smart switching system is needed to control the charging and discharging system of the battery automatically to avoid overcharge. The design process is carried out through the simulation, implementation, and analysis stages on each part of the system. In the input regulator system, a buck converter and current limiting circuit are used to regulate the input voltage and current of the solar panel, respectively 10V and 1.32A, to be forwarded to the charging system with a constant output of 4.2V and 8.4V and supply system with 5V output. When the battery reaches 20%, the relay automatically switches charging to the battery, and when it reaches 100%, it automatically switches to discharging to the regulator output. The regulator output produces a maximum output of 5V with an average current of 1.5A in K1 and K2. Then for K3 and K4, it can get a maximum of 9V with a maximum current of 2A. Voltage readings and mapping of battery monitoring results are adjusted to series and parallel battery circuits, but battery voltage readings when charging are unstable due to changing supply voltage sensors.
