Biomass is a renewable energy source that arises from living things and is organic so that it can be renewed amidst the dwindling availability of non-renewable energy sources. One of the biomass fuels around us is sawdust waste, empty fruit bunches of oil palm, and bagasse. To test the combustion of biomass waste, it requires a tool called Fluidized Bed Boiler (FBB) and numerical testing using the Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) method in the Ansys Fluent simulation in order to obtain combustion simulation results and combustion characteristics in the FBB with varying Air Fuel Ratio (AFR). By using Fluidized Bed Boiler (FBB) modeling with each dimension of 20 cm in diameter, then 235 cm in height, and the length of the fuel inlet and outlet of 10 cm, the type of mesh used is polyhedral and the nodes value is 36960 and the element is 62557. Then the orthogonal average value is 0.84 and the average skewness is 0.2161. From the FBB modeling test, sawdust biomass tends to work maximum at AFR 5.7. Oil palm empty fruit bunches tend to work optimally at AFR 3.3, as seen from the velocity distribution and flue gas turbulence. Then the bagasse biomass works optimally at AFR 4.5. The third calorific value of the fuel shows the maximum value at AFR 3.3. Meanwhile, the highest exhaust gas emissions occur at AFR 5.7. The cause of this test is due to the ratio of the intake air and the required fuel or the term Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) and other factors that affect the numerical testing of each biomass waste fuel in the Ansys Fluent simulation.
