ANALISIS HUBUNGAN HARAPAN HIDUP DAN PENGELUARAN KESEHATAN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI: STUDI KASUS ASEAN-6

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan harapan hidup dan pengeluaran kesehatan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi ASEAN-6 yang terdiri dari Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapura, Thailand, Filipina, dan Vietnam pada tahun 2000-2017. Variabel-variabel yang digunakan terdiri dari PDB per kapita, harapan hidup, pengeluaran kesehatan per kapita, investasi, pengeluaran pemerintah, inflasi, pendidikan, dan perdagangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan fixed effects model (FEM) dan hasil estimasi menunjukkan bahwa harapan hidup memiliki hubungan negatif signifikan, sedangkan pengeluaran kesehatan memiliki hubungan positif signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi ASEAN-6. Berdasarkan hasil estimasi, penelitian ini merekomendasikan pemerintah perlu mengalokasikan pengeluaran kesehatan per kapita untuk program-program kesehatan yang menunjang produktivitas tenaga kerja.

This study analyzes the relationship of life expectancy and health expenditure on the economic growth of ASEAN-6 countries consisting of Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam between 2000 and 2017. The variables in the model include GDP per capita, life expectancy, health expenditure per capita, investment, government expenditure, inflation, education, and trade. This study utilizes the fixed effects model (FEM) and the estimation results show that life expectancy has a significant negative relationship, while health expenditure has a positive significant relationship on the economic growth of ASEAN-6. Based on the estimation results, this study recommend that the government needs to allocate health expenditures per capita for health programs that support labor productivity.
