Insidensi dan Prognosis Pasien Terdiagnosis Positif COVID-19 dengan Sindrom Guillain-Barre : Sebuah Rapid Review

Pandemi COVID-19 yang disebabkan oleh virus corona mulai merebak sejak akhir tahun 2019. Transmisi infeksi COVID-19 dapat terjadi melalui kontak langsung maupun melalui droplet yang berkontak dengan mukosa hidung, mulut, dan mata. Tanda dan gejala infeksi COVID-19 umumnya berupa demam, batuk, kelelahan, dan kesulitan bernafas. Salah satu manifestasi lain dari COVID-19 adalah Sindrom Guillain-Barre. Sindrom Guillain-Barre merupakan suatu kondisi autoimun dimana sistem imun tubuh menyerang saraf perifer. Kondisi ini umumnya ditandai dengan kelemahan sistem motorik bilateral dan berkurang atau hilangnya refleks otot. Etiologi dari Sindrom Guillain-Barre masih belum diketahui dengan jelas, namun memiliki kaitan dengan infeksi. Dalam studi ini, penulis akan membahas insidensi dan prognosis pasien positif COVID-19 dengan manifestasi klinis berupa Sindrom Guillain-Barre dengan metode rapid review.

COVID-19 pandemic caused by corona virus has started since late 2019. COVID-19 transmits through direct contact between infected droplet with mucosa of nose, mouth, and eyes. Signs and symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough, fatigue, and breathing difficulty. Other manifestation of COVID-19 is Gullain-Barre Syndrome. Gullain-Barre Syndrome is an autoimmune condition where the body's immune system attacks the peripheral nerve system. This conditions mainly signature by bilateral weakness of motoric system and decreasing or absent of normal muscle reflexes. The etiology of Gullain-Barre Syndrome is still unknown, but some suggests that there is connection with prior infection. In this study, the author will discuss about incidence and prognosis of patient diagnosed positive with COVID-19 with Gullain-Barre Syndrome as clinical manifestation through rapid review.
