Penulisan tesis berjudul Indo Europeesch Verbond (IEV): Identitas dan Solidaritas Indo 1919-1942 ini digarap dengan menggunakan Metode Sejarah, penelitian ini hendak menguji sejauh mana proses pembangunan identitas dan pembentukan solidaritas Indo dalam Indo Europeesch Verbond (IEV). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali lebih mendalam tentang sebuah organisasi yang menampung aspirasi golongan Indo yang minoritas. Dimulai dari menelusuri kembali asal-usul dan keberadaan Indo dalam masyarakat kolonial Indonesia dengan dinamika yang ada di sana hingga muncul usaha-usaha membangun identitas Indo dalam IEV. Pembangunan identitas dimulai dari kesadaran dan posisi kolektif untuk membentuk sebuah organisasi. Setelah IEV terbentuk dilakukan program-program kemakmuran untuk membentuk solidaritas bersama seperti pendidikan dan beasiswa, kolonisasi (transmigrasi) dan gerakan perempuan dan pemuda Indo. Ketika semua itu hampir sempurna, datanglah berbagai penghalang seperti Krisis ekonomi dunia (malaise) dan pendudukan Jepang pada 1942 yang membuat IEV semakin terpuruk dan akhirnya menghilang.

The writing of the thesis entitle Indo Europeesch Verbond (IEV): Indo Identity and Solidarity 1919-1942 was carried out using the historical method, this study wanted to examine to which the process of developing Indo identity and solidarity in Indo Europeesch Verbond (IEV). The purpose of this study is to explore more deeply about an organizations that accommodates the aspirations of the minority Indo group. Starting from tracing the origins and existence of Indo in Indonesian colonial society, with the dynamics that exist there until there are efforts to build an Indo identity in IEV. Identity building starts from collective awareness and position to form a common organization. After IEV was formed, prosperity programs were carried out to form solidarity among others such as education and scholarships, colonization (transmigration) and the Indo women and youth movement. When everything was almost perfect, came various obstacles such as the world economic crisis (malaise) and the Japanese occupation in 1942 which made IEV worse and finally disappeared.
