Pengaruh Penambahan Tepung Daun Kenikir (Cosmos caudatus) dalam Pakan Terhadap Kualitas Kimia Daging dan Perlemakan Ayam Broiler

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung daun kenikir terhadap kualitas kimia daging dan perlemakan ayam broiler. Pakan ada 4 macam, yaitu tanpa penambahan tepung daun kenikir, penambahan tepung daun kenikir 0,5%, 1% dan 1,5% dari total ransum. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan DOC strain New Lohmann dengan masa pemeliharaan selama 28 hari. Setiap perlakuan terdapat pengulangan sebanyak 8 kali dengan 8 ekor ayam pada setiap ulangan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan 1 ekor per ulangan, sehingga total sampel sebanyak 32 ekor ayam. Analisis kimia dilakukan menggunakan sampel daging bagian paha dan dada ayam broiler. Parameter yang diamati yaitu komposisi kimia meliputi kandungan air, abu, protein kasar lemak kasar yang diuji menggunakan analisis proksimat, kandungan kolesterol secara spektrofotometri menggunakan metode Lieberman-Burchard, serta perlemakan abdominal ayam broiler. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi dengan pola searah. Perbedaan antara nilai rerata perlakuan diuji menggunakan Duncan's new Multiple Range Test. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukan bahwa penambahan tepung daun kenikir level 0,5% pada ransum pakan berpengaruh menurunkan kadar air daging bagian paha (P<0,05) dan kadar lemak daging bagian paha (P<0,05). Penambahan tepung daun kenikir level 1% berpengaruh menurunkan kolesterol daging bagian paha ayam broiler(P<0,05).

This study aims to determine the effect of adding kenikir leaves powder in feed on chemical quality of meat and fatty of broiler chicken. There were four treatments level of keniki leaves namely 0, 0.5%, 1% and 1.5% of the total rations. This study used DOC strain Lohmann wich kept for 28 days. Each treatment consisted of 8 replications, which was consisted of 8 chickens per replication. Sampling was conducted by taking 1 chicken per replication, so the total sample was 32 chickens. Samples of breast and thigh meat were analysed for chemical composition including water, ash, crude protein, ether extract using proximate analysis, cholesterol tested by spectrophotometry according to Lieberman-Burchard method and abdominal fat of broilers. Data were analysed using One Way Patterns. Mean differences were tested with Duncan's New Multiple Range Test. Based on the result of the study, the effect of kenikir leaves meal 0.5% in the diet feed decrease the levels of water of thigh muscles broiler chicken (P<0.05) and fat of thigh muscles broiler chicken (P<0.05). The effect of kenikir leaves meal 1% decrease cholesterol of thigh muscles broiler chicken (P<0.05).
