PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN MINYAK ATSIRI PALA (Myristica fragrans) DALAM PAKAN TERHADAP PERFROMAN DAN BOBOT ORGAN DALAM AYAM BROILER

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan minyak atsiri pala (Myristica fragrans) dalam pakan terhadap performan dan bobot organ dalam ayam broiler. Penelitian ini menggunakan 160 ekor ayam broiler umur sehari dengan strain Lohmann W99 Grade-A berjenis kelamin jantan yang dikelompokkan menjadi 4 perlakuan dan dipelihara selama 28 hari di kandang unggas berbentuk baterry. Setiap perlakuan terdiri dari 5 pen sebagai ulangan dan setiap ulangan terdiri 8 ekor ayam. Kelompok perlakuan terdiri dari ransum basal tanpa penambahan aditif (P1; kontrol negatif), ransum basal + antibiotik virginiamycin 2500 ppm (P2; kontrol positif), ransum basal + minyak atsiri pala 300 ppm (P3), dan ransum basal + minyak atsiri pala 600 ppm (P4). Data yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi pakan, indeks performan, persentase berat organ tembolok, proventriculus, gizzard, usus halus (duodenum, jejunum, ileum), sekum, usus besar, hati, jantung, dan persentase bobot organ pankreas ayam broiler. Data dianalisis statistik menggunakan Variansi pola searah dan apabila menunjukkan perbedaan nyata, dilanjutkan dengan Uji Duncan Multiple Range Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan 300 ppm dan 600 ppm minyak atsiri pala tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap performan ayam broiler meliputi konsumsi pakan, bobot badan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi pakan, dan indeks performan. Penambahan 300 ppm minyak atsiri pala berpengaruh nyata menurunkan (P<0,05) persentase berat organ proventriculus dan penambahan 600 ppm minyak atsiri pala berpengaruh nyata meningkatkan (P<0,05) persentase berat organ hati ayam broiler. Kesimpulan yang dapat dapat diambil dari hasil penelitian adalah bahwa penambahan 300 ppm dan 600 ppm minyak atsiri pala (Myristica fragrans) pada pakan belum mampu meningkatkan performan ayam broiler secara nyata dan tidak berefek negatif terhadap organ dalam ayam broiler jantan strain Lohmann W99 Grade-A.

The reserch was conducted to know the effect of nutmeg essential oil myristica fragans addition in feed on performance and visceral organs of broiler chicken. This study used 160 day old chick (DOC) broiler with Lohmann W99 Grade-A male strain, divided into 4 treatments and reared for 28 days in a poultry cage baterry. Each treatment consisted of 5 pens as the replications and each replication consisted of 8 chickens. The treatment group consisted of basal diet without addition (P1; negative control), basal diet + virginiamycin antibiotic 2500 ppm (P2; positive control), basal diet + nutmeg essential oil 300 ppm (P3), and basal diet + nutmeg essential oil 600 ppm (P4). Data observed include feed consumption, body weight, body weight gain, feed conversion, performance index, persentage weight of the crop, proventriculus, gizzard, small intestine (duodenum, jejunum, ileum), cecum, large intestine, liver, heart and persentage weight of the pancreas broiler chicken. The data were analyzed statistically with One way design and if it showed a significant difference, it was continued with Duncan's Multiple Distance Test. The results showed that the addition of 300 ppm and 600 ppm of nutmeg essential oil had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the performance of broiler chickens inluding feed consumption, body weight, body weight gain, feed conversion, and performance index. The addition of 300 ppm of nutmeg essential oil significantly decreased (P<0.05) the persentage of organ weight of proventriculus and the addition of 600 ppm of nutmeg essential oil significantly increased (P<0.05) the persentage of liver of broiler chickens. The conclusion that can be drawn from the results of the study is that the addition of 300 ppm and 600 ppm of nutmeg essential oil (Myristica fragrans) in feed has not been able to significantly improve broiler performance and has no negative effect on internal organs of the Lohmann W99 Grade-A male broiler.
