2021 | Skripsi | S1 KIMIATelah dilakukan penelitian sintesis nanopartikel alginat-kitosan sebagai adsorben zat warna metilen biru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis nanopartikel alginat-kitosan sebagai adsorben zat warna metilen biru, mengetahui pengaruh pH, massa adsorben, waktu kontak dan konsentrasi awal adsorbat terhadap keefektifan adsorpsi, serta mempelajari kinetika dan isoterm adsorpsinya. Sintesis nanopartikel dilakukan melalui pembentukan emulsi alginat-kitosan yang kemudian ditautsilangkan dengan natrium tripolifosfat dan CaCl2 dengan cara diteteskan ke emulsi alginat-kitosan. Nanopartikel yang terbentuk dikarakterisasi dengan spektrofotometer inframerah (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), dan Zetasizer. Proses adsorpsi dimonitor dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Nanopartikel alginat-kitosan yang diperoleh berbentuk serbuk berwarna putih gading. Proses adsorpsi zat warna metilen biru berjalan dengan baik pada kondisi optimum pada pH media 6, massa adsorben 0,04 g, waktu kontak 45 menit, dan konsentrasi awal adsorbat 120 ppm. Kapasitas adsorpsi sebesar 60,97 mg/g. Proses adsorpsi zat warna metilen biru oleh nanopartikel alginat-kitosan mengikuti kinetika orde dua semu dan model isoterm Langmuir dengan konstanta Langmuir 17,67. Nanopartikel alginat-kitosan dapat digunakan kembali setelah dilakukan proses desorpsi.
The synthesis of alginate chitosan nanoparticles as an adsorbent for the adsorption of methylene blue dye has been carried out. The research aimed to synthesize alginate-chitosan nanoparticles as an adsorbent for the adsorption of methylene blue to study the effect of pH, adsorbent mass, contact time, and initial concentration of adsorbate on the effectiveness of adsorption. The kinetics and adsorption isotherms in the adsorption process with alginate-chitosan were studied. The synthesis of nanoparticles was carried out by making an alginate chitosan emulsion and was crosslinked with sodium tripolyphosphate and CaCl2 by dropping into the alginate chitosan emulsion. The nanoparticles formed were then characterized by infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and Zetasizer. The adsorption process was monitored by using a UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. The synthesized alginate-chitosan nanoparticles are ivory white powders. The adsorption could be better performed at medium pH of 6, the adsorbent mass 0.04 g, contact time of 45 min, adsorbate initial concentration of 120 ppm. It has an adsorption capacity of 60.97 mg/g. The adsorption process of methylene blue dye by alginate-chitosan nanoparticles followed pseudo-second-order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm model with Langmuir constant of 17.67. The alginate-chitosan nanoparticles can be reused after the desorption process.
