There are several types of stoves based on the source of heat used in cooking, including gas stoves and induction stoves. Gas stoves use gas as their fuel, while induction cookers use electricity as their fuel. Gas stoves are stoves that are commonly used by the people of Indonesia. This type of stove has been used comprehensively since the enactment of the Vice President's Letter No. 20/WP/9/2006 concerning the transition of kerosene to LPG. The switch was made to save on the expenditure of the kerosene subsidy budget, and reduce the pollution caused by kerosene. However, the success of the transition from kerosene to LPG has increased the demand for LPG. This is exacerbated by the decreasing domestic gas production. The result is an increase in the number of imports carried out by the Indonesian government to cover the domestic demand for LPG. The increase in LPG imports has resulted in a domino effect in which the price of LPG circulating in the community is increasing. In addition, the budget needed for the 3 kg LPG subsidy is also increasing. This greatly burdens the Indonesian government's spending budget. For that we need the right solution in overcoming these problems, one of which is to substitute a gas stove with an induction stove. This study compares the energy required to use a gas stove and an induction stove in the process of heating 2 liters of water from a temperature of about 29.5 oC to a temperature of around 96.5 oC. This is to see the level of efficiency and budget estimates issued by individuals, then can estimate the savings that can be made in the national expenditure budget. From the results of the tests carried out, it was found that the cost of energy consumed by an induction stove was cheaper at Rp. 286, - compared to using a gas stove at a price of Rp. 292, -. In addition, the time required for using an induction stove is less, which is about 428.75 seconds compared to using a gas stove with a time required of about 505.25 seconds. In addition, the quality of electricity in the use of induction stoves is fairly good. This is taken from the results of the harmonic values that have been obtained in the test. From the results of these calculations, it can be seen that the induction stove meets the requirements to substitute gas stoves because the required level of cost efficiency is better. So that the national expenditure budget and dependence on LPG gas imports can be reduced and reduce the budget needed for 3 kg LPG subsidies.
