ATEISME DALAM ALBUM THE PROCESS OF BELIEF KARYA BAD RELIGION

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membedah konsep dan argumentasi ateisme yang terdapat di dalam album The Process of Belief karya Bad Religion. Selain membedah konsep dan argumentasi ateisme, penelitian ini juga memaparkan ateisme sebagai kritik bagi problem-problem bertuhan yang terdapat di dalam album The Process of Belief. Penelitian ini membedah setidaknya tujuh lagu dari album The Process of Belief, yaitu Prove It,Destined for Nothing, Materialist, Kyoto Now!, Sorrow, Epiphany, dan Evangeline. Untuk memahami pandangan ateisme secara teoritis, perlu untuk membedah argumentasi-argumentasi yang membentuk kesimpulan akan ketiadaan Tuhan. Argumentasi disini dapat dimaknai sebagai dasar pandangan filosofis yang membentuk pandangan ateisme. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan yang menggunakan interpretasi sebagai metode analisis. Objek material penelitian ini adalah salah satu album musik dari sebuah band asal amerika bernama Bad Religion, yang berjudul The Process of Belief. Objek formal penelitian ini adalah ateisme dengan berbagai argumentasinya sebagai salah satu aliran dalam filsafat ketuhanan. Penelitian ini mengikuti tahapan inventarisasi, klasifikasi, analisis, penyusunan hasil, dan diolah menggunakan unsur metode filsafat hermeneutika filosofis yaitu, deskripsi dan interpretasi. Penelitian ini menunjukan apa saja argumentasi ateisme yang terdapat di dalam album The Process of Belief dan bagaimana ateisme album The Process of Belief itu menjadi sebuah kritik terhadap problem bertuhan. Argumentasi materialisme dan beberapa corak argumentasi eksistensialisme ateistik seperti menolak takdir, penderitaan sebagai konsekuensi peniadaan Tuhan, dan ketidak pentingan melawan argumen keberadaan Tuhan muncul dalam beberapa lagu di album The Process of Belief. Beberapa lagu lainya memberi kritik bagi problem-problem bertuhan seperti, sifat individualistis para pemeluk agama dan penggunaan agama sebagai alat kepentingan tertentu.

This research aims to dissect the concepts and arguments of atheism contained in the album The Process of Belief by Bad Religion. In addition to dissecting the concepts and arguments of atheism, this study also describes atheism as a critique of religious problems contained in the album The Process of Belief. This research dissects at least seven songs from the album The Process of Belief, namely Prove It, Destined for Nothing, Materialist, Kyoto Now!, Sorrow, Epiphany, and Evangeline. To understand the theoretical view of atheism, need to dissect the arguments that shape the view of God. The arguments here can be interpreted as the basis for the philosophical views that form the view of atheism. This research is a literature study that uses interpretation as an analytical method. The object of this research is one of the music albums from an American band called Bad Religion, entitled The Process of Belief. The formal object of this research is atheism with various arguments as one of the schools in the philosophy of God. This research follows the stages of inventory, classification, analysis, compilation of results, and is processed using elements of the philosophical hermeneutic philosophy method, namely, description and interpretation. This research shows what are the atheism arguments contained in the album The Process of Belief and how the atheism of the album The Process of Belief becomes a critique of the problem of god. The materialism argument and several types of atheistic existentialism arguments such as rejecting destiny, suffering as a consequence of the abolition of God, and the insignificance of the argument against the existence of God appear in several songs on the album The Process of Belief. Several other songs criticize God's problems, such as the individualistic nature of religious adherents and the use of religion as a tool for certain interests.
