ANALISIS KERUSAKAN ENGINE ROLLER LIFTER PADA MESIN 3406C UNIT MOTOR GRADER 16G CATERPILLAR PT KALTIM PRIMA COAL

Salah satu unit motor grader 16G Caterpillar milik PT Kaltim Prima Coal dengan nomor lambung G107 mengalami kerusakan pada komponen roller lifter. roller lifter merupakan salah satu komponen mesin yang digunakan untuk mengubah gaya rotation pada camshast menjadi gaya axial pada inlet valve maupun exhaust valve. Dampak dari kerusakan pada roller lifter yaitu terjadi suara abnormal pada mesin Diesel. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui empat hal: penyebab, dampak, cara memperbaiki, dan rekomendasi untuk mencegah kerusakan roller lifter. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi data history maintenance berupa data penambahan oli mesin, program analisis oli mesin, pengamatan potongan filter oli mesin, data daily filter cut & melakukan overhaul. Program analisis oli dan daily filter cut dilakukan dengan mengambil sampel oli pelumas lalu dianalisis di laboratorium untuk mengetahui keausan dan kontaminan pada oli pelumas engine. Mengidentifikasi hasil overhaul berupa temuan kerusakan kemudian dilakukan pengukuran keausan pada roller lifter. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penyebab kerusakan roller lifter pada unit motor grader Caterpillar 16G adalah pin roller lifter tidak terkunci sehingga lifter dan camlobe mengalami keausan sehingga jarak antara push rod dengan bridge melebihi batas normal (over clearance). Beberapa komponen yang menyebabkan suara abnormal pada mesin diesel 3406C ini ketika dijalankan (running) adalah exhaust pushrod, bridge, lock lifter yang lepas. Sehingga unit motor grader 16G Caterpillar milik PT Kaltim Prima Coal harus dilakukan perbaikan dengan mengganti komponen yang rusak agar unit dapat bekerja dengan optimal.

One of the Caterpillar 16G motor grader units owned by PT Kaltim Prima Coal with hull number G107 suffered damage to roller lifter components. roller lifter is one of the engine components used to change the rotation force on the camshast to axial force on the inlet valve and exhaust valve. The impact of damage to the roller lifter is abnormal noise in the Diesel engine. This study was conducted to find out four things: causes, impacts, how to fix, and recommendations to prevent roller lifter damage. This research was conducted by identifying history maintenance data in the form of engine oil addition data, engine oil analysis program, engine oil filter cut observation, daily filter cut data & overhaul. The oil analysis program and daily filter cut are performed by taking a sample of lubricating oil and then analyzed in the laboratory for wear and contaminants in the engine lubricating oil. Identifying the results of the overhaul in the form of damage findings is then carried out wear measurements on roller lifters. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the cause of the damage to the roller lifter on the Caterpillar 16G motor grader unit is the pin roller lifter is not locked so that the lifter and camlobe wear so that the distance between the push rod and the bridge exceeds the normal limit (over clearance). Some components that cause abnormal noise in this 3406C diesel engine when running are exhaust pushrod, bridge, lock lifter that is loose. Therefore, Caterpillar 16G motor grader unit owned by PT Kaltim Prima Coal must be repaired by replacing damaged components in order for the unit to work optimally.
