PENGARUH BANGSA SAPI TERHADAP PERFORMA REPRODUKSI SAPI POTONG DAERAH PEGUNUNGAN DI KULON PROGO

Konsumsi daging di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan, Kulon Progo menjadi salah satu daerah yang memiliki kawasan pegunungan dan berperan dalam pencapaian target swasembada daging di Provinsi DIY. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bangsa sapi terhadap performa reproduksi sapi potong sebagai indikator untuk meningkatkan mutu genetik dan produktifitas ternak dalam mencapai target tersebut. Pemilihan bangsa sapi sebagai subjek penelitian dikarenakan bangsa sapi menjadi salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi efisiensi kinerja reproduksi sapi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2021 dengan pengambilan sampel sebanyak 47 ekor untuk melihat DO, EPP, dan CI, serta 65 ekor bertujuan untuk melihat CR dan S/C dari sapi potong di daerah pegunungan tepatnya di Kulon Progo, DIY. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei dengan pengumpulan data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara yang berpedoman pada kuesioner serta melalui anamnesa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan rerata dari DO masing-masing 142,27 hari dan 152,14 hari dan rerata CI untuk sapi PO dan SimPO masing-masing 503,18 dan 498,21 hari, untuk angka CR pada sapi PO 34,09% dan sapi SimPO 23,80% dan untuk nilai S/C sapi PO didapat 2,16 kali dan SimPO 2,43 kali. Penelitian ini dapat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa performa reproduksi sapi dilihat dari bangsa sapi potong di daerah pegunungan tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang signifikan.

ABSTRACT Meat consumption in Indonesia has increased, Kulon Progo is one of the mountainous regions and plays a role in achieving the goal of meat self-sufficiency in DIY province. This study aimed to determine the effect of cattle breeds on the reproductive performance of beef cattle as an indicator to improve the genetic quality and productivity of cattle in achieving these goals. The selection of cattle breeds as research subjects is due to the fact that cattle breeds are one of the factors that affect the efficiency of the reproductive performance of cows. This research was carried out in February 2021 by taking a sample of 47 heads to see DO, EPP and CI, and 65 heads to see CR and S / C of beef cattle in mountainous areas, specifically in Kulon Progo, DIY. The study used a survey method with the collection of primary data obtained from interviews guided by questionnaires and by history. The results of this study showed that the mean OD was 142.27 days and 152.14 days, respectively, and the mean CI for PO and SimPO cattle was 503.18 and 498.21 days, respectively, for the CR rate for PO cattle was 34.09% and SimPO cattle 23.80% and for the value of S / C PO cattle obtained 2.16 times and SimPO 2.43 times. This research can be concluded that the reproductive performance of beef cattle in mountainous areas does not show a significant effect.
