The coastal area in Brebes Regency, is a dynamic area and has complex problems because it is influenced by both natural and human factors. Land use in the coastal area become very complex due to the dynamics of coastal change. Activities that take place in the oceans and on land within a certain period of time will form a different coastal typology depending on the genetic processes and the constituent materials. Shoreline change is a process related to the natural dynamics of the coast. The dynamics of changes in the shoreline of a water from time to time provide information about coastal abrasion and accretion. This study aims to examine the characteristics of the coastal area of Brebes Regency towards: The typology that develops in the estuary of the Pemali River and its surroundings, The dynamics of the rate of change of abrasion and accretion, and Formulating management due to abrasion and sedimentation at the estuary of the Pemali River. The method used for data analysis in this research is descriptive analysis method, descriptive-quantitative, descriptive-comparative and correlative analysis methods. Typology of the coast can be carried out by using three constituent components, namely the main constituent material, relief and the genesis process. Detecting shoreline changes using multi-temporal satellite imagery from 2004-2019 then identified it with an interdisciplinary approach, namely the integration of remote sensing technology and geographic information systems (GIS). Meanwhile, the formulation of coastal management can be seen from the potential and problems of the coastal area itself.. The results showed that the typology formed in the Pemali Pesisir river estuary, Brebes and Wanasari Regions, namely coastal typology of land deposition and coastal typology of marine deposition with the most dominant Coastal typology is ocean deposition. During 2004-2019 there was abrasion along the coastline along 33.481,06 m, while sedimentation occurred on the coastline along 25.409,04 m. Very wide abrasion and accretion in Kaliwingi Village with an abrasion area of 1.908,50 ha and an accretion of 1.197,45 ha. The abrasion that occurred in Kaliwingi Village was the result of the influence of the waves that occurred. Management of coastal areas at the research location based on the typology sub aerial deposition coast and typology marine deposition coast can be grouped into a coastal zone, a river-like zone, a coastal protected forest zone, a fishpond cultivation zone, a mixed cultivation zone (irrigated agriculture, settlement, trade and plantation), and a tourism zone.
