Current business competition encourages companies to make improvements from all lines so that they can compete with other companies. Lapak_Didi has concerns that the production process has not been in optimal direction. Management feels that the production process can be maximized to get output product that is able to meet the number of consumer demands. However, based on observations, a problem was found, namely that the company had never created a description of the production process line so that the company found it difficult to see and measure how optimistic the production process was. Therefore, this study was conducted to map production process handbag batik cloth using concepts lean manufacturing which is used to identify and reduce waste activities waste in the production process so that it can find sources of waste that affect consumer added value. From the results of mapping and identification, researchers can provide suggestions for getting the optimal production process. The method lean manufacturing used is value stream mapping to map, analyze, and identify waste in the current production process. Meanwhile, to determine the source of the problem that causes waste, researchers used a fishbone diagram. Based on the results of the analysis, it is found that the waste that is not added value for Lapak_Didi is the first check (stitching and thread cutting) Activities non value added consists of one process inspection for a total of 5585.9 seconds (1.55 hours) or by 6.54% of the total operations performed. With a fishbone diagram, it can be seen that the cause of waste occurs due to too much repetitive work. Recommendations for improvement by making Kaizen improvements, value added has increased efficiency, which originally took 19.08 hours to 13.73 hours.

Kata Kunci : lean manufacturing, waste, value stream mapping, value added, non value added, fishbone diagram, industri handbag.
