Continuous Air Monitors (CAM) have to detect airborne alpha particles in various facilities and to trigger a sound alarm if the measurement is above the pre-determined threshold. In particular conditions, CAM may emit an alarm without the presence of any sign of radioactivity, which is a false alarm. It has been shown that the reason for these false alarms is the non-radioactive aerosols variations, thus the impacts of these non-radioactive aerosol deposits on the radiation measurements need to be evaluated. To achieve it, one needs to know the possibility to model a proper aerosol deposit using a Monte-Carlo based model with Geant4 software. This study follows the experimental setup from a previous study, in which the aerosol depositions are simulated with two types of deposit, then the results are compared to the experimental result. The first type of deposit is a homogeneous material. The results showed that there was an energy shift because of the attenuation, hence this approach could not be used. The second type of deposit is composed of a distribution of spheres. The results showed agreement with the experimental spectrum, especially for the peak positions. However, the tail of the peak is unable to be well represented. Therefore, this study has shown that a proper aerosol deposit should be composed of adequate distribution of particles that consider the physics process of aerosol deposition.
