ANALYSIS OF HOTEL'S RESILIENCE STRATEGY DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC BASED ON ISO 22316: Case Study on Wijaya Hotel Yogyakarta

Strategi ketahanan sangat penting untuk setiap bisnis. Sebuah bisnis harus memiliki strategi yang mapan untuk memastikan proses bisnis tetap beroperasi jika terjadi gangguan, termasuk selama pandemi COVID-19. Kajian ini mencoba mengeksplorasi strategi ketahanan yang diadopsi oleh Hotel Wijaya untuk menghadapi tantangan pandemi COVID-19 berdasarkan ISO 22316: Security and Resilience - Organizational Resilience - Principles and Attributes. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif. Sumber data meliputi data primer yang diperoleh dari wawancara dan observasi serta data sekunder diperoleh dari analisis dokumen. Data dievaluasi berdasarkan dua puluh lima komponen Model Ketahanan Organisasi ISO 22316. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa Hotel Wijaya memenuhi sembilan belas komponen berdasarkan komponen yang ada. Enam komponen yang tidak tersedia ditinjau dan ditemukan bahwa mereka dapat mempengaruhi keseluruhan operasional Hotel Wijaya dalam jangka panjang. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat menggunakan beberapa objek dengan tujuan membandingkan strategi ketahanan dan / atau objek yang mungkin berbeda ukuran, jenis, dan / atau lokasi dari Hotel Wijaya untuk memahami strategi yang berbeda dalam menghadapi krisis tertentu. Penelitian di masa depan mungkin juga menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif untuk mencapai pemahaman yang komprehensif tentang strategi ketahanan.

Resilience strategy is crucial for every business. A business must have a well-established strategy to ensure the business processes remain operational in the event of a disruption, including during COVID-19 pandemic. This study attempts to explore the the resilience strategy adopted by Wijaya Hotel to face the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic based on the ISO 22316: Security and Resilience - Organizational Resilience - Principles and Attributes. This study uses a qualitative case study approach. Data sources include primary data that were obtained from the interview and observation and secondary data were obtained from the document analysis. The data were evaluated based on the twenty-five components of ISO 22316 Organizational Resilience Model. The evaluation results show that Wijaya Hotel satisfies nineteen components based on the present components. The six unavailable components are reviewed and found that they could influence the overall operation of Wijaya Hotel in the long run. Future research may use several objects with the aim of comparing their resilience strategy and/or the objects might be different in size, type, and/or location from Wijaya Hotel to understand different strategies to face certain crisis. Future research may as well use quantitative approach to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the resilience strategy.
