Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that infects CD4+ T cells. The infection causes a decrease in the body's immune system so that sufferers are more susceptible to infection by bacteria or other viruses. Another viral infection is Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). HCV infects hepatocytes in the liver as a result a person can suffer from hepatitis C. The condition of a person who is infected by two viruses is called coinfection. In this thesis, we discuss the analysis of the stability of mathematical model of the effect of HIV on HCV in HIV/HCV coinfection. The HIV/HCV coinfection model is divide into four subpopulations, namely the healthy hepatocyte cell (T), the infected hepatocyte cell (I), the HCV (V), and the CD4+ T cell (H). The HIV/HCV coinfection model in this thesis is formed by adding the interaction of HCV-infected hepatocyte cells with HIV-infected CD4+ T cells. This interaction effect leads to an increase in HCV. We search the HCV virus free equilibrium point, the HIV/HCV coinfection equilibrium point, and the basic reproduction number. Furthermore, the local and global stability from the HCV free virus equilibrium point and the local stability from the HIV/HCV coinfection. Numerical simulations and medical interpretations are provided to demonstrate the effect of HIV on HCV.
