Analysis of the Corporate Social Responsibility Effect on Finanical Performance of BUMN Companies

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh aktivitas CSR yang dilakukan dan diungkapkan oleh perusahaan terhadap kinerja keuangannya melalui bukti empiris. Objek penelitian ini adalah Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) Indonesia yang telah membuat laporan keuangannya kepada publik dari tahun 2014 hingga 2018. Metode yang digunakan untuk pengukuran kegiatan CSR adalah dengan indeks GRI yang diatur oleh GRI G4. standar. Total ada 25 perusahaan yang memenuhi kriteria dalam penelitian ini yang terdiri dari 125 set data. Pengumpulan datanya menggunakan purposive sampling. Metode yang digunakan adalah uji asumsi klasik dan pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada perusahaan BUMN, CSR tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan ROA maupun ROS. Namun, CSR memang memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dan positif dengan ROE.

The aim for this research is to analyse the effect of CSR activities that is conducted and disclosed by the companies, with their financial performance through the empirical evidence. The object of this research are Indonesian state-owned companies, or BUMN, that have established their financial report to public from the year of 2014 to 2018. The method used for the measurement of CSR activities is GRI index, which is regulated by GRI G4 standards. In total, there are 25 companies that fits into the criteria of this research, which makes up 125 set of data. For the data collection, this paper uses the purposive sampling. The methods used are the classical assumption test and the hypothesis testing using the regression analysis. Result of the study shows that in BUMN companies, the CSR does not have significant relationships with ROA nor the ROS. However, CSR does have significant and positive relationship with ROE.
