QUALITY CONTROL 1 SEMEN SAPI LIMOUSIN DI BALAI INSEMINASI BUATAN (BIB) UNGARAN JAWA TENGAH PADA BULAN JANUARI 2020

INTISARI Sapi limousin menjadi primadona peternakan rakyat untuk dikembangkan. Masyarakat banyak memilih straw bibit unggul dari sapi limousin (Bos taurus) dengan harapan menghasilkan pedet dengan kualitas bagus. Tujuan ingin mengetahui quality control l semen segar untuk pemrosesan pembuatan straw merupakan tindakan yang wajib untuk menjamin kualitas straw yang beredar. Materinya berupa semen segar sapi limousin sebanyak 9 sampai 10 sampel diperiksa seminggu 2 kali selama 2 minggu. Pemeriksaan quality control 1 meliputi volume semen, pH semen, warna semen, konsistensi, gerakan massa, gerakan individu, dan konsentrasi. Selain pemeriksaan semen dilakukan juga pengambilan data di BIB Ungaran dilakukan dengan wawancara serta perekapan data quality control 1 selama Bulan Januari 2020. Hasil rekapitulasi data dianalisis dengan metode anova. Hasil pemeriksaan semen segar menunjukan volume semen 6,2-7,6 ml, ph 6,4, semen berwarna krem, Gerakan massa 2+, konsistensi sedang dan motilitas individu 70%. Disimpulkan bahwa dari hasil quality control 1 76,8% semen segar dianggap layak untuk proses lebih lanjut.

ABSTRACT Limousin cattle are the favorite of livestock sector to be developed. Many people choose straw from limousin cattle (Bos taurus) in the hope of producing calves with good quality. The purpose of wanting to know the quality control of fresh semen for processing straw is a mandatory measure to guarantee the quality of circulating straw. The material in the form of fresh semen from limousin cows of 9 to 10 samples was examined twice a week for 2 weeks. Quality control 1 checks include volume, pH, color, consistency, mass movement, motilitas sperm, and concentration. In addition to the semen examination, data collection at BIB Ungaran was also carried out by interviewing and recording quality control data 1 during January 2020. The recapitulation results of the data were analyzed using the ANOVA method. The results of the examination of fresh semen showed a semen volume of 6.2-7.6 ml, pH 6.4, cream-colored semen, 2+ mass movements, moderate consistency and 70% individual motility. It was concluded that from the results of quality control 1 76.8% of fresh semen was considered suitable for further processing.
