Review: Masker Wajah Untuk Perawatan Kulit

Kosmetik merupakan bahan atau sediaan yang ditujukan untuk tata rias dan atau merawat kulit. Salah satu sediaan kosmetik untuk merawat kulit adalah masker wajah. Review ini bertujuan untuk membahas mengenai manfaat bahan alam dan bahan sintetis dalam masker wajah, evaluasi sifat fisik masker, dan metode serta hasil uji efikasi masker wajah secara in vitro maupun in vivo. Metode untuk menulis review yaitu melakukan pencarian literatur melalui database Google Scholar, Scopus, Science Direct, dan Pubmed serta memasukan kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi dalam menyeleksi artikel. Jumlah artikel yang akan dibahas sebanyak 34 jurnal. Hasil review menunjukkan bahwa bahan utama dalam masker wajah yang berasal dari bahan alam bermanfaat sebagai antioksidan, antibakteri, dan pelembab wajah. Bahan sintetis bermanfaat sebagai anti aging dan pelembab wajah. Sifat fisik masker dapat dipengaruhi oleh variasi konsentrasi ekstrak, bahan pembentuk film, pembentuk gel, dan humektan. Uji in vitro pada masker aktivitas antioksidan dan antibakteri yang paling baik adalah masker ekstrak dedak beras merah dan ekstrak daun dewa. Uji in vivo aktivitas anti aging, anti jerawat, dan pelembab wajah yang paling baik adalah masker sheet yang mengandung bahan sintetis, masker peel off ekstrak daun andaliman, dan masker sheet bioselulosa.

Cosmetics are ingredients or preparations aimed at cosmetology and or caring for the skin. One of the cosmetic preparations for treating the skin is facial masks. This Review aims to discuss the benefits of natural materials and synthetic substances in facial masks, the evaluation of physical properties of masks, and the methods and results of the efficacy of facial masks in vitro and in vivo. The method for writing a review is to conduct a literature search through the Google Scholar, Scopus, Science Direct, and Pubmed databases and include inclusion and exclusion criteria in the article selection. Number of articles to be discussed as many as 34 journals. The review results show that the main ingredient in facial masks derived from natural ingredients is beneficial as an antioxidant, antibacterial, and moisturizing face. Synthetic ingredients are beneficial as anti aging and facial moisturizer. The physical properties of the mask can be influenced by variations in the concentration of extracts, film-forming material, gel-forming, and Humecthane. Test in vitro on the mask of the best antioxidant and antibacterial activity is a mask of extract of red rice bran and leaf extract of God. Test in vivo anti aging activity, anti acne, and facial moisturizer are best is a sheet mask that contains synthetic ingredients, and masks peel off leaf extract, and biocellulosic sheet mask.
