5R (Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat, dan Rajin) merupakan upaya untuk meminimalkan pemborosan waktu, gerak, dan persediaan, dengan menciptakan budaya kerja yang nyaman pada lingkungan kerja. Tempat kerja yang nyaman dapat memudahkan dalam bekerja, sehingga dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas kinerja karyawan. Penerapan 5R dapat tercapai dengan adanya komitmen bersama dari managemen atas yang bertanggung jawab menentukan strategi perusahaan untuk masa yang akan datang (general manager), manajemen tengah yang berfungsi melakukan koordinasi (supervisor) hingga managemen bawah yaitu pelaksana tugas tepat waktu yang terjadwal (karyawan, operator). Tujuan dari magang yaitu menerapkan 5R pada laboratorium in-process PT SGM Plant Yogyakarta. Studi ini diawali dengan observasi dan wawancara kepada seluruh pengguna laboratorium in-process. Hasil observasi dan wawancara menunjukkan laboratorium in-process belum menerapkan 5R. Penerapan 5R dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif, untuk melakukan relayout menggunakan diagram Activity Relationship Chart (ARC). Penerapan 5R di PT SGM Plant Yogyakarta perlu pembentukan tim 5R, perancangan sistem 5R, dan pelaksanaan audit 5R. Kata kunci: diagram ARC, laboratorium in-process, 5R

5R's (Sort, Set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain) is an effort to minimize the waste of time, motion, and supplies, by creating a work culture that is comfortable in the work environment. A comfortable workplace can make it easier to work so that it can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of employee performance. The application of the 5R's can be achieved with a joint commitment from top management who is responsible for determining the company's strategy for the future (general manager), middle management that functions to coordinate (supervisor) to bottom management to implementing timely tasks (employees, operators). The purpose of an internship was to apply 5R's to the laboratory in-process PT SGM Plant Yogyakarta. The study began with observations and interviews with all laboratory in-process users. The results of observations and interviews indicated that laboratories in-process had not implemented the 5R's. The application of 5R's with a qualitative descriptive method for layouts used the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) diagram. The application of the 5R's at PT SGM Plant Yogyakarta needed to form a team 5R's, design the system 5R's, and conduct a 5R's audit. Keywords: ARC diagram, laboratory in-process, 5R
