SISTEM PENAMAAN TOKOH-TOKOH DALAM HIKAYAT RAJA PASAI

Tesis ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan bentuk, makna, dan fungsi dalam sistem penamaan tokoh-tokoh dalam Hikayat Raja Pasai (HRP). Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini ada tiga tahap, yaitu pengumpulan data, analisis, dan penyajian hasil analisis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik simak bebas libat cakap dengan teknik lanjutan catat. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode padan ekstralingual dengan teknik lanjutan teknik hubung banding menyamakan dan teknik hubung banding membedakan. Selanjutnya, hasil analisis disajikan dengan beberapa tabel dan kata-kata biasa. Struktur penamaan tokoh dalam HRP dapat diklasifikasikan berdasarkan unsur pembentuknya (gelar, sapaan, nama diri) serta asal bahasanya (bahasa Melayu, bahasa Melayu Campuran, bahasa Arab, bahasa Arab Campuran, dan campuran bahasa Sanskerta dengan bahasa Kawi). Nama-nama tersebut mengandung makna leksikal dan makna presuposisi yang dikumpulkan dari Hikayat Raja Pasai, A Dictionary of The Malay Language Malay to English, Daftar Nama Marga/Fam, Gelar Adat, dan Gelar Kebangsawanan di Indonesia, Kamus Bahasa Melayu Nusantara, Kamus Kawi (Djawa Kuno) to Indonesia, Kamus Bahasa Melayu Online, Kamus Kawi-Indonesia, Bausastra Indonesia-Jawi, kbbi.kemdikbud.go.id, http://www.farsidic.com/, Greek to English Lexicon, www.almaany.com, Bausastra: Jarwa Kawi, MW Sanskrit Digital Dictionary, First Name Reverse Dictionary: Given Names Listed by Meaning, Tembung Kawi Mawi Tegesipun. Makna presuposisi tersebut adalah makna yang berasosiasi dengan tingkatan sosial di masyarakat, berasosiasi dengan tokoh tertentu (nama nabi, nama sahabat nabi, nama Putri nabi, nama istri nabi, nama raja), berasosiasi dengan tempat, berasosiasi dengan flora, berasosiasi dengan benda langit, berasosiasi dengan logam, berasosiasi dengan fauna, berasosiasi dengan sifat, dan berasosiasi dengan cita-cita/motivasi penamaan dengan harapan agar menjadi pemimpin yang baik, memiliki sifat yang terpuji, dan mendapatkan kesakralan diri. Kemudian, hasil analisis mengenai fungsi penamaan tokoh ini adalah sebagai penanda penghormatan, penanda profesi, penanda historisitas, penanda religiositas, penanda jenis kelamin, penanda daerah asal, dan penanda identitas.

This thesis aims to describe the form, meaning, and function in the naming system of characters in the Hikayat Raja Pasai (HRP). The method used in this study consist of three stages, namely data collection, analysis, and presentation of the results of the analysis. Data collection was carried out using observation method with non-participating technique with advanced note-taking techniques. Data analysis was performed by using the extralingual equivalent methods with comparative linking techniques. Furthermore, the results of the analysis are presented with several tables and words. The structure of naming system of characters in HRP can be classified based on its constituent elements (titles, address, personal names) and the origin of the language (Malay, Mixed Malay, Arabic, Mixed Arabic, and a mixture of Sanskrit with Kawi). The names contain lexical meanings and presupposition meanings which is obtained from Hikayat Raja Pasai, A Dictionary of The Malay Language Malay to English, Daftar Nama Marga/Fam, Gelar Adat, dan Gelar Kebangsawanan di Indonesia, Kamus Bahasa Melayu Nusantara, Kamus Kawi (Djawa Kuno) to Indonesia, Kamus Bahasa Melayu Online, Kamus Kawi-Indonesia, Bausastra Indonesia-Jawi, kbbi.kemdikbud.go.id, http://www.farsidic.com/, Greek to English Lexicon, www.almaany.com, Bausastra: Jarwa Kawi, MW Sanskrit Digital Dictionary, First Name Reverse Dictionary: Given Names Listed by Meaning, Tembung Kawi Mawi Tegesipun. The presupposition meanings are associated with social levels in society, associated with certain figures (the name of the prophet, the name of the prophet's best friend, the name of the prophet's daughter, the name of the prophet's wife, the name of the king), associated with the place, associated with flora, associated with celestial bodies, associated with metals, associated with fauna, associated with characters, and associated with ideas /motivations for naming in the hope of becoming a good leader, having commendable qualities, and getting self-sacredness. Then, the analysis of the function of naming these figures consist of a sign of respect, a sign of profession, a sign of historicity, a sign of religiosity, a sign of gender, a sign of origin, and a sign of identity.
