Teknik Penerjemahan Locutions dalam Novel Madame Bovary Karya Gustave Flaubert dengan Novel Terjemahannya Nyonya Bovary

Locution adalah rangkaian kata-kata berbentuk baku yang masih memiliki nilai stilistik. Untuk menerjemahkan unit-unit leksikal tersebut, ada berbagai cara yang digunakan penerjemah, yang dikenal dengan istilah teknik penerjemahan. Tema dari penelitian ini adalah penerjemahan locution Bahasa Prancis ke Bahasa Indonesia. Tujuan pertama skripsi ini adalah mengkaji jenis-jenis locution dalam novel Madame Bovary oleh Gustave Flaubert berdasarkan teori Schapira. Tujuan yang kedua adalah mengidentifikasi teknik-teknik penerjemahan elemen-elemen tersebut pada novel terjemahan Nyonya Bovary berdasarkan teknik Molina dan Albir. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode equivalensi terjemahan. Data-data dikumpulkan dari novel Madame Bovary karya Gustave Flaubert dan terjemahannya Nyonya Bovary oleh Winarsih Arifin. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa locution dalam novel Madame Bovary terdiri dari beberapa jenis; (1) la locution syntagmatique expressive harfiah, (2) la locution syntagmatique expressive metafora, (3) la locution syntagmatique expressive allusive, (4) la locution syntagmatique expressive cliché dan (5) idiom. Adapun teknik penerjemahan yang ditemukan berjumlah 15 teknik yang terdiri dari 8 teknik tunggal dan 7 teknik kombinasi. Delapan teknik tunggal tersebut adalah modulasi, padanan lazim, penerjemahan harfiah, kreasi wacana, amplifikasi, amplifikasi linguistik, reduksi dan adaptasi. Sementara 7 teknik kombinasi yang ditemukan berupa modulasi-transposisi, modulasi-partikularisasi, padanan lazim-amplifikasi linguistik, modulasi-amplifikasi linguistik, modulasi-generalisasi, penerjemahan harfiah-amplifikasi linguistik dan penerjemahan harfiah-partikularisasi.

A fixed expression is a lexicalized suite of words with stylistic value. To translate these lexical units, there are several ways, known as "translation techniques". The theme of this research is the translation of french fixed expressions in Indonesian. The aim of this research is firstly to analyse fixed expressions in the novel Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert based on Schapira's theory. This research aims secondly to analyse the translation techniques used to translate these expressions into the Indonesian translation Nyonya Bovary in accordance with the theory of Molina and Albir. The method used to carry out this research is the method of equivalence in translation. The data of this research is collected from the novel Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert and its translation Nyonya Bovary by Winarsih Arifin. The first result of this research indicates that the fixed expressions found in the novel can be divided into 5 types; (1) the literal expressive syntagmatic phrase, (2) the metaphorical expressive syntagmatic phrase, (3) the allusive expressive syntagmatic phrase, (4) the cliché expressive syntagmatic phrase and (5) the idiomatic expression. The second result shows that the translator used 15 translation techniques that included 8 single techniques and 7 combined techniques to translate fixed expressions in the novel. The 8 single techniques consist of modulation, established equivalence, literal translation, discursive creation, amplification, linguistic amplification, reduction and adaptation. The 7 combined techniques are modulation-transposition, modulation-particularization, established equivalence-linguistic amplification, linguistic modulation-amplification, modulation-generalization, literal translation-linguistic amplification, and literal translation-particularization.
