TINJAUAN EKSISTENSIALISME SOREN AABAYE KIERKEGAARD PADA TOKOH EINAR FILM THE DANISH GIRL

Film yang dijadikan objek materi dalam penelitian ini adalah film The Danish Girl karya Tom Hopper. Penelitian ini bertitik tolak pada pertama, film The Danish Girl memuat tokoh utama bernama Einar Wagener yang berperan sebagai transgender. Kedua, film The Danish Girl memuat tentang proses pembentukan eksistensi identitas diri pada tokoh Einar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami eksistensi pada tokoh utama Einar dan menganalisa tokoh Einar dalam perspektif eksistensialisme Soren Aabaye Kierkegaard. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan kajian kualitatif dengan pengambilan data melalui studi pustaka. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisa penelitian ini menggunakan hermeneutika filosofis dengan unsur metodis interpretasi, koherensi internal, deskripsi dan refleksi filosofis. Penggunaan unsur metodis filsofis tersebut didasarkan atas permasalahan yang ada dan sebagai alat untuk mencari pemecahan masalah yang telah menjadi pertanyaan dalam rumusan masalah. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa pertama, tokoh Einar dalam film The Danish Girl memperlihatkan kebimbangan identitas gender pada diri Einar hingga Einar membuat keputusan menjadi seorang wanita dengan melakukan operasi pergantian kelamin atas dasar dirinya yang meyakini bahwa dirinya wanita yang terjebak dalam tubuh pria. Kedua, eksistensi Einar sebagai tokoh transgender mencapai pada tahap estetis, tahap etis dan tahap religius. Keinginan Einar yang kuat ingin menjadi wanita didasari atas hasrat dan imajinasi untuk mengubah tubuhnya termasuk dalam tahap estetis. Einar juga dianggap mampu mencapai tahap etis karena sebagai individu transgender mampu membaur dan berkelakuan baik dalam lingkungannya secara etis. Keyakinan Einar atas keterlibatan Tuhan akan perubahan dirinya merupakan hal yang praksis dalam tahap religius, sehingga dapat disebut sebagai manusia otentik.

The movie that used as the material object in this study is The Danish Girl by Tom Hopper. In the beginning on this research is The Danish Girl contains a main character named Einar Wagener who acts as a transgender. Secondly, the Danish Girl movie contains the process of establishing an identity for the character Einar. The aim of this study is to understand the existence of the main character Einar and also to analyze the character of Einar in the perspective of SorenAabaye Kierkegaard. This type of research uses a qualitative study with data collection through literature review. The method that used to analyze this research uses philosophical hermeneutics with methodical elements of interpretation, internal coherence, description and philosophical reflection. The use of philosophical methodical elements is based on existing problems and as a tool to find solutions to problems that have become questions in the formulation of the problem. The Danish Girl showed the self-doubt of gender identity Einar until his self made the decision to become a woman by carrying out a sex change operation on the basis of herself who believed that she was trapped in a man's body. Second, Einar's existence as a transgender figure reached an asthetic stage, an ethical stage and a religous stage. Einar's strong desire to become a woman is based on her desire and imagination to change her body, including in the aesthetic stage. Einar is also considered capable of achieving an ethical stage because as transgender individuals are able to blend and behave well in their environment ethically. Einar’s belief in God’s involvement in his inner transformation is considered to be praxis in the religious stage, so that she can be called an authentic human.
