Pemilihan Kode Bahasa di Kota Tegal

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeksripsikan pemilihan kode bahasa di Kota Tegal dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilihan kode bahasa tersebut. Data dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 65 pembahan yang mengisi kuesioner dan 15 pembahan untuk disadap. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner dan observasi. Data observasi yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian ditranskripsi, sedangkan data kuesioner ditulis dalam tabel. Data tersebut kemudian diklasifikasi dengan mencari pola-pola yang terbentuk berdasarkan pemilihan kode bahasa dan penggunaannya dalam tabel. Berdasarkan pola-pola tersebut, pemilihan kode bahasa dan faktor penggunannya dapat diketahui. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kode bahasa di Kota Tegal, yaitu 1) bahasa Indonesia yang terbagi atas ragam formal dan informal, 2) bahasa Jawa yang terbagi atas ragam bahasa Jawa ngoko dan bahasa Jawa kromo, 3) bahasa asing yang terbagi atas bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Arab. Terdapat beberapa faktor pemilihan kode bahasa masyarakat Kota Tegal. Faktor-faktor tersebut meliputi: 1) faktor ranah berupa ranah keluarga, ranah pendidikan, ranah pekerjaan, ranah keagamaan, dan ranah pergaulan dalam masyarakat, 2) faktor mitra tutur, 3) faktor norma.

This research is aimed to describe the language code choice in Tegal City and the factors affected the language code choice in Tegal City. The total data in this research is 65 informants who filled out the questionnaire and 15 informants by observation. Data obtained through questionnaires and observation. Observation data that has been collected and then transcribed, while the questionnaire data is written in the table. The data is then classified by looking for patterns that are formed based on the language code choice and its use in the table based on those patterns, the language code choice, and its user factor. The result of the research shows that there are language code choice in Tegal City: 1) Indonesia language which is divided into formal and informal variety, 2) Javanese language which is divided into Javanese language of ngoko and Javanese language of kromo, 3) foreign language which is divided into English and Arabic. There are several factors in selecting the language code of the Tegal City community. These factors include: 1) the factors of the domain in the form of the family domain, the educational domain, the domain of work, the religious domain, and the social sphere in society, 2) the factors of the speech partners, 3) the norm factor.
