Tugas akhir ini merupakan terjemahan dari novel berjudul Another Episode S karangan Ayatsuji Yukito. Novel ini menceritakan mengenai kelas 3-3 di SMP Yomikita yang disebut sebagai "Kelas Terkutuk". Untuk menghilangkan kutukan tersebut, Kooichi Sakakibara bersama dengan teman sekelasnya, Mei Misaki, berusaha membongkar penyebab dari kutukan tersebut. Another Episode S dipilih karena alur ceritanya yang menarik serta merupakan salah satu novel bergenre horror terbaik di Jepang. Karena popularitasnya, serial novel Another telah diadaptasi menjadi anime pada tahun 2012, namun buku ketiganya yang berjudul Another Episode S tidak masuk dalam adaptasi tersebut.. Beberapa kesulitan ditemukan pada proses penerjemahan. Salah satunya adalah pemilihan kata dalam Bahasa Indonesia yang memiliki bobot setara dengan kata dari bahasa asalnya, yaitu Bahasa Jepang. Selain itu juga terdapat beberapa kendala menyangkut tata bahasa yang masih belum dipelajari sehingga mempersulit proses penerjemahan.

This final paper is a translation of a novel titled Another Episode S, written by Yukito Ayatsuji. This novel tells about class 3-3, a cursed class which is located at Yomikita Junior High School. The main character Kooichi Sakakibara, and his classmate Mei Misaki, was looking for all possible reasons to break the curse. Another Episode S was choosen because this novel series is one of the best horror novel in Japan due to its intriguing storyline. Because of its popularity, Another novel series had been adapted into an anime series at 2012. Nevertheless, the third book of this series, Another Episode S, was not yet adapted, unlike its first two books of the series. There are some problems while translating Another Episode S, such as some Japanese expressions have no equivalent translation in Bahasa Indonesia. There are problems in the grammatical structure which cause ambiguity in the process of translation. To make it easier, some expressions are translated to other expressions which meanings are closely related, to make the sentence pragmatically correct.
