KOMUNITAS TIKUS (SUBFAMILIA: MURINAE) DI PESISIR DESA KARANGWUNI, KECAMATAN WATES, KABUPATEN KULON PROGO, YOGYAKARTA

Tikus merupakan suku anggota mammal dengan jumlah jenisnya terbesar yaitu sebanyak 2052 jenis. Di Indonesia ada 171 jenis tikus. Jumlah jenis tikus di Pulau Jawa sebanyak 22 jenis yang terdiri dari Genera Chiropodomys, Pithecheir, Kadarsonomys, Mus, Rattus, Bandicota, Sundamys, Leopoldamys, Niviventer, dan Maxomys (Suyanto et al., 2002). PT. Jogja Magasa Iron (PT. JMI) akan membangun pabrik pig iron di Pesisir Desa Karangwuni, pembangunan ini tentunya akan menimbulkan perubahan vegetasi, perubahan vegetasi tersebut pada gilirannya akan mengganggu kehidupan satwa liar terutama tikus. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian mengenai komunitas tikus di lokasi rencana pembangunan pabrik pig iron sebelum terjadinya alih fungsi lahan akibat pembangunan pabrik pig iron oleh PT. JMI sebagai informasi dasar dan agar dapat tercipta pengelolaan lahan hijau yang baik untuk mendukung keberlangsungan hidup tikus di waktu yang akan datang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mempelajari komunitas tikus dan status konservasi tikus menurut IUCN Red List Threatened Species, mempelajari komposisi dan potensi pakan tikus serta mengetahui hewan apa saja yang berpotensi menjadi predator tikus di lokasi rencana pembangunan pabrik pig iron, Desa Karangwuni, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. Pengambilan data tikus dilakukan dengan random sampling dengan single life trap dan metode jalur (transek), pengambilan data vegetasi dengan metode kuadrat plot dan data hewan predator tikus dengan metode person communication serta pengamatan langsung. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 3 jenis tikus dari dua genera dan total 41 individu, 40 cacah spesies tumbuhan dari 18 suku yang berbeda dengan 6 jenis growthform yang berbeda, hewan predator tikus di lokasi penelitian antara lain: burung elang, burung hantu, ular, garangan, kucing rumah, anjing, musang.

Rats are the largest number of mammal members of 2052 species. In Indonesia there are 171 species of rats. PT. Jogja Magasa Iron (PT JMI) will build a pig iron factory at the coast of Karangwuni Village, this development will certainly cause vegetation changes, the change of vegetation will in turn disturb wildlife, especially rats. Therefore, it is necessary to do research on rat community in the location of pig iron factory development plan prior to land conversion due to construction of pig iron factory by PT. JMI as basic information and in order to create a good green land management to support the survival of rats in the future. The purpose of this research is to study rat community and rat conservation status according to IUCN Red List Threatened Species, to study vegetation composition and the potency of rat feed and to know the predator of the rats at the location of pig iron factory development plan, Karangwuni Village, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. Rats data collection was done by random sampling with single life trap and path method (transect), vegetation data taking with quadrat plot method and rat predator data using person communication method and direct observation. The results of the study found 3 types of rats from two genera and a total of 41 individuals, 40 counts of plant species from 18 different family with 6 different growthform types, the predator of the rats is eagle, owl, snake, garangan, house cat, dog, civet.
