PENGARUH TERAPI REIKI LING-CHI TERHADAP TINGKAT DEPRESI PADA PENDERITA STROKE

Stroke is a dangerous disease that can give a physical defect like paralyzes, even death. The patient should adapt his new condition whenever he/she fells hopeless, it leads his depression. This study was concerned to identify the effect of Reiki Ling-chi therapy toward the depression level of post stroke patient. Twenty-three post stroke patients in DR. Sardjito hospital were the subject of this study. Twelve people as the experimental group, and eleven others as control group. The therapy was given to the experimental group for 15 – 20 minutes, twice a week for 4 weeks. The therapy was given in 3 steps as relaxation, meditation, and contemplation. The experimental group was given pre-test and post-test. The control group was also given twice at the same time as the experimental group and to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment, the measurement was done 3 times after the pre-treatment, post treatment and follow-up. The data analysis showed there was positive significant effect of the treatment toward the decreasing of the depression level of the experimental group (p 10.58), whereas the control group did not show positive change (p>0.01) with increasing average (27.73
