Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh komponen-komponen Good Corporate Governance (GCG) terhadap kinerja 48 perusahaan yang tercatat pada Bursa Efek Indonesia selama tahun 2003 hingga 2005. Komponen-komponen GCG terdiri dari struktur kepemilikan, ukuran dewan komisaris, komisaris independen, jumlah komite audit, dan komite audit independen, sedangkan kinerja perusahaan diwakili oleh dua variabel yaitu Economic Value Added (EVA) dan Return on Assets (ROA).

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua variabel independen tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap EVA; ukuran dewan komisaris, komisaris independen, dan jumlah komite audit tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap ROA, sedangkan struktur kepemilikan terkonsentrasi dan komite audit independen berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap ROA. This research aims to analyze the impact of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) components on firm performance of 48 firms listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange between 2003 and 2005. Components of GCG include ownership structure, size of board of commissioners, independent commissioners, size of audit committee, and independent audit committee, while the firm performance is proxied by two variables, that is Economic Value Added (EVA) and Return on Assets (ROA). The results show insignificant effect of all independent variables on EVA and insignificant effect of size of board of commissioners, independent commissioners, and size of audit committee on ROA, while concentrated ownership structure and independent audit committee have negative and significant effect on ROA.
