Perbedaan Persepsi Mahasiswa Senior dan Junior terhadap Profesi Akuntan pada Program S1 Reguler Jurusan Akuntansi: studi pada PTN dan PTS di Jogjakarta

Penelitian ini bertujuan memverifikasi fenomena mengenai perbedaan persepsi mahasiswa senior dan junior jurusan akuntansi terhadap profesi akuntan. Di samping itu, penelitian ini juga mencoba melihat perbedaan persepsi mahasiswa PTN dan PTS pada jurusan akuntansi terhadap profesi akuntan. Pengambilan data menggunakan stratified random sampling dan snowball. Responden yang berpartisipasi sebanyak 224 mahasiswa akuntansi PTN dan PTS berakreditasi A di Jogjakarta. Pengujian penelitian menggunakan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat perbedaan signifikan dengan persepsi mahasiswa senior lebih baik daripada mahasiwa junior sehingga mengindikasi bahwa pendidikan di kampus telah memberikan pemahaman komprehensif mengenai profesi akuntan. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan persepsi terhadap profesi akuntan antara mahasiswa PTN dan PTS. Mahasiswa PTN memiliki persepsi yang lebih baik dibandingkan mahasiswa PTS. This research is aimed to verify phenomena whether there is different perception between senior students and junior students regarding accounting profession at regular program. Beside that, this research objective is to observe whether there is different perception between public college students and private college students regarding accounting profession. Data is selected using stratified random sampling and snowball. The analysis unit for responses of 224 students from colleges with A accreditation in Jogjakarta. The statistic method used to test the hypotheses is Mann Whitney test. This research shows significance different that indicates college education process have given comprehensive knowledge about accounting which senior students have better perception about accounting profession than junior students. This research also shows that public college students have better perception about accounting profession than private college students. Keywords: perception, accounting profession
