ANALISIS PRESTASI AKADEMIK MAHASISWA ALIH JALUR DAN MAHASISWA REGULAR DI FAKULTAS TEKNIK UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA

Penelitian ini dilakukan terkait dengan adanya kebijakan pembukaan kelas Alih Jalur bagi lulusan D3 yang akan melanjutkan ke S1. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan prestasi akademik (IPK) dan lama pengerjaan skripsi antara mahasiswa Alih Jalur dan Reguler di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Sriwijaya. Manfaat penelitian ini diantaranya sebagai bahan pertimbangan perumusan kebijakan ke depan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Analisis data yang digunakan berupa analisis statistik dan time series. Analisis statistik berupa uji asumsi klasik dan uji hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil uji asumsi klasik diketahui tidak ada variabel dari tiap kelompok jurusan yang secara bersama lolos uji normalitas dan homogenitas, sehingga uji hipotesis yang digunakan adalah uji non parametrik Mann-Whitney. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa pada Jurusan Teknik Kimia terdapat perbedaan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) dan lama pengerjaan skripsi dari mahasiswa reguler dan alih jalur; pada Jurusan Teknik Mesin terdapat perbedaan lama pengerjaan skripsi tetapi tidak terjadi perbedaan pada Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK); pada Jurusan Teknik Sipil dan Teknik Elektro tidak memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan baik pada IPK maupun lama pengerjaan skripsi; Ada tidaknya perbedaan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif diindikasikan dipengaruhi oleh perencanaan akademik program studi yang tercermin melalui Pedoman Pelaksanaan Program Alih Jalur; Ada Tidaknya perbedaan Lama Pengerjaan Skripsi diindikasikan dipengaruhi oleh kelengkapan alat laboratorium yang menunjang penelitian mahasiswa.

This research was conducted in connection with the policy of opening of Transfer Program for vocational graduates who will continue to academic program. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of academic achievement (GPA) and the duration to do final paper between the students of transfer students and regular students in the Faculty of Engineering Sriwijaya University. The benefits of this research include as a consideration of policy formulation in the future. The method used in this research is quantitative method. Data analysis used in the form of statistical analysis and time series. Statistical analysis in the form of classical assumption test and hypothesis test. Based on the result of the classic assumption test, it is known that there is no variable from each majors group that pass the normality and homogeneity test, so the hypothesis test used is non parametric test of Mann-Whitney. Based on the results of research and discussion of this study found that in the Chemical Engineering Department there is a difference of GPA (Grade Point Average) and the duration for to do final paper from regular students and over the course; in the Department of Mechanical Engineering there is a difference in the length of final paper but there is no difference in the GPA; in the Department of Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering does not have a significant difference both in the GPA and the length of final paper; Whether or not the difference in the Cumulative Achievement Index is indicated is influenced by the academic planning of the study program as reflected in the Guideline for Track Path Implementation Program; The presence or absence of differences in the duration of thesis work is indicated to be influenced by the completeness of laboratory tools that support student research.
