PENGEMBANGAN SISTEM PENGELOLAAN PRODUK DAN SAMPAH DENGAN PENERAPAN KONSEP ZERO WASTE DI PASAR INDUK KRAMAT JATI

Sampah di Pasar Induk Kramat Jati cenderung mengalami peningkatan. Sampah yang ditimbulkan di pasar ini mayoritas sampah organik. Sistem pengelolaan sampah yang berjalan saat ini, adalah dengan metode kumpul-angkut-buang menuju ke TPA. Dengan sistem yang berjalan saat ini, belum dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan sampah. Karena jumlah sampah yang dapat terangkut ke TPA terbatas, sehingga masih menyisakan sampah di pasar tersebut. Sebagai bentuk tanggung jawab terhadap sampah yang ditimbulkan, maka pihak pengelola dalam hal ini PD. Pasar Jaya, wajib untuk melakukan penanganan dan pengelolaan sampah yang berwawasan lingkungan. Salah satu bentuk prakteknya dengan 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle). Praktek 3R merupakan salah satu prinsip pelaksanaan konsep zero waste. Penerapan pengelolaan sampah dengan konsep zero waste sangat baik untuk dikembangkan, karena meniru siklus alam yang menjadikan sampah untuk dapat dirancang menjadi sumber daya yang dapat digunakan bagi kegiatan lainnya. Selain itu, jenis sampah yang ditimbulkan adalah sampah organik, hal ini menjadi salah satu keutungan pihak pengelola karena jenis sampah tersebut memiliki banyak cara untuk diolah. Berdasarkan landasan pemikiran tersebut, maka sistem pengelolaan produk dan sampah dengan penerapan konsep zero waste, memiliki potensi untuk dapat dikembangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sistem pengelolaan produk dan sampah di Pasar Induk Kramat Jati yang berjalan saat ini, dan dari sistem tersebut akan menjadi dasar untuk mengetahui pengembangkan sistem pengelolaan produk dan sampah di Pasar Induk Kramat Jati dengan penerapan konsep zero waste. Sehingga diperoleh pengurangan jumlah sampah, dengan proses pengurangan timbulan sampah dan proses daur ulang sampah yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kegiatan lainnya di lingkungan pasar.

Waste generation in Pasar Induk Kramat Jati tends to increase. Waste generated in this market majority of organic waste. The current waste management system, by collect-hauling-haul to the landfill. This current system, has not been able to solve the waste problems. Because the amount of waste that can be hauled to the landfill is limited, so it still leaves waste in the market. As a form of responsibility for waste generated, then the management company which is PD. Pasar Jaya, is obliged to handle and manage waste, based of environmental. That one of practical model is 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle). 3R practical is one of the principles zero waste concept implementation. The implementation of waste management with the concept of zero waste is very interesting to be developed, because it is like the natural life cycle that makes the waste to be designed into a resource that can be used for other activities. In addition, the type of waste generated is organic waste, this becomes one of the advantage for the company, because the type of waste has many ways to be processed. Based on this basic thinking, the system of product and waste management with the application of the concept of zero waste, has the potential to be developed. This study aims to determine the current waste management system of product and waste in the Pasar Induk Kramat Jati. Based on the system will become the basis for knowing the development of product and waste management system in Pasar Induk Kramat Jati, with the application of zero waste concept. The result is reduction amount of waste, by the process of waste generation and waste recycling process, that can be utilized for other activities in the market environment.
