Bisnis Warisan Pengusaha Perak Generasi Kedua Kotagede:(Studi kasus Etos Kerja Pengusaha Kerajinan Perak Sri Dadis Silver dan DD Silver

ABSTRACT The silver is a business that occupied Kotagede society for generations since the Mataram kingdom. Craft originally inclusive for the sake of the kingdom evolved exclusively become a commercial folk craft. Cultural and historical value of silver has become the identity for the people of Kotagede. To sustain that legacy business, emerging new generations of entrepreneurs with diverse work ethos. Seeing the difference background economic conditions experienced by the first generation to the second generation therefore emerging research questions related the work ethos second generation entrepreneurs silver in Sri Dadi‟s Silver and DD Silver companies. The method used in this research is a case study approach qualitative analyzed descriptively. The reason for using the method, because the research focus on contemporary phenomena. Data was collected through in-depth interviews based on the interview guidelines, observation, and documentation. Informants which included in this study, the chairman of Koperasi Produksi Pengusaha Perak Yogyakarta (KP3Y), silver entrepreneurs, employees, and members of Disperidagkoptan Yogyakarta City. Mr. Kasdadi and Mrs. Indah, both of them are silver entrepreneurs of second generation which born in the same family economic activity. Business inheritance from Mrs. Sri Suharto Hartodiwarno to Mr. Kasdadi caused by his responsibilities as a male in the family, while the business heir in Mr. Mashuri Sihab family decided by the family council. Mr. Kasdadi and Mrs. Indah founded the private companies namely Sri Dadi's Silver and DD Silver as a form of self-actualization. Both mobilize their employment strategy and business capabilities to stabilize the economy companies and maintain a business. It is clear that emerge economic action caused by their situation with the surrounding social action. Implications structure of the work ethos of silver entrepreneurs which economically was located with social action relational and structural. The first is the economic structure Kotagede that influenced the choice of work. Second, the social structure shaped by culture and religion as nrimo attitude, trust, and thrifty. That two structures are successfully be situated as socially so it can produce an incentive for them. Third, the bad construction of institution as a result of failure creative economic development policy which impact on both low work ethos. However, both of them generally have a high work ethos if viewed by their perseverance to face the policy failure and maintain the business independently.
