Strategi Pengembangan Telaga Menjer sebagai Destinasi Wisata Baru di Kabupaten Wonosobo

Abstract Menjer Lake is one of potential tourist attractions to be developed as a tourism destination in Wonosobo Regency. However, as few visitors and as some other tourist attractions that haven’t been optimally developed at Menjer Lake surroundings, and also there are some other problems which appear become the background of this research. Question which appear: What are strategies can be applied to develop Menjer Lake as new tourist destination in Wonosobo Regency. This research is aimed to formulize the exact development strategies used Menjer Lake, because Menjer Lake potential to be developed as tourist destination is very big. Strategic issues are dug and classified based on internal and external environmental factors, after that those issues are analyzed using SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threat) analysis with SWOT Matrix, so that produced four sets strategies, they are S-O strategy which using power to take advantage of opportunities profusely and resulted 5 sub-strategies; (1) Optimization to the attractions which are already exist at the area of Menjer Lake, (2) Packaging of tourist packet which more optimal, (3) Electronic and social media as promotion media, (4) Mentoring to the local traditional craftsmen by Koperasi and UMKM Department, (5) To create alternative tourist track, and widen the road. W-O strategy based on utilization to the exist opportunities by minimizing the lacks produces three sub-strategies. They are (1) The development of tourist attraction, accommodations, and other supporting facilities, (2) The optimizing promotion and marketing tourist development strategies, and (3) Mediation to create cooperation, and become a link to improve communication among actors. S-T strategy is strategy using power owned by tourist attraction to overcome threat and give two sub-strategies (1) Mentoring youth association by Tourism Department for tourism managing, (2) Youth association as communication bridge between society and Tourism Department, and W-T strategy which based on defensive activities and made effort in minimizing the exist lacks along with avoiding the threat creating a strategy called Society Empowerment and Resuscitation to Support tourism activities. Those four sets strategies later are re-examined and tested using litmus test, in order to know the most strategic strategy. From the result of litmus test, optimization to the attractions which are already exist at the area of Menjer Lake become the most strategic strategy with highest score, and followed by the development of tourist attraction, accommodations, and other supporting facilities. Both strategies are are closely related , and require more attention from the manager. Keywords: Strategy, Environmental Analysis, SWOT Analysis, Litmus test
